Salutations! My name is Thom and I'm a game master based in the UK 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. I'm dyslexic but somehow manage to pull the words together when I'm talking about Dragons or Aliens and such! I've been running TTRPGs for about 8 years, and have been DMing Dungeons and Dragons games for about 5 years. I always aim to put your experience as a player first! I have a cat named Freya and large box of RPG materials which i'm not entirely convinced isn't a mimic.

GM Style

I always strive to make sure my games are inclusive 🏳️‍🌈, exciting ⚔️, and dynamic, with a bit of something for everyone! I enjoy both playing through published modules/adventures and writing and playing my own homebrew material and worlds 🌎. I primarily run DND 5E, but have also run games like Call of Cthulhu 🐙, A Song of Ice and Fire Role-playing game, and games using the powered by the apocalypse system. I love Roleplay and using it to explore more about the characters we're playing, the world that's being built, and ourselves as players! I love balancing the drama, humour and heartache that can all occur when playing, providing opportunities for people to feel connected with their characters and the people they're playing with. I am not a combat-heavy DM but I am always happy to turn up the difficulty for those that like a challenge! I like to balance my games with a healthy mix of Roleplay, Exploration, Mystery and Puzzles, rewarding creative thinking and playing. The Rule of Cool applies (mostly). Tools/Platforms: -Discord for voice calls and group organisation, with Discord add-ons to add some immersive music during the session. - I prefer to run shorter combats using a 'theatre-of-the-mind' appraoch, but I've also utilised Roll20 or Foundry VTT for longer, more in-depth combat, or utilising maps and images. Campaigns I'm currently running with friends: -A long term campaign set in my homebrew world of Brinil, with a mix of drama and whimsy in a colourful high fantasy setting. -Curse of Strahd: A long term campaign that I've been running for a few years set in the WOTC Barovia setting. The party are preparing for their final assault on Castle Ravenloft.🧛‍♂️🧟‍♂️ Campaigns I've run in the past: Cthulhu Cymru: A Call of Cthulhu adventure set in 1920s South Wales, UK, where the players uncovered ancient horrors against the bleak background of a post-war industrial Wales . The Rise of House Caster: An ASOIAF RPG game that I ran set in an alternative Westeros, where a different line of Targaryan rulers sat the Iron Throne. The players were members or allies of House Caster, quickly thrust into a difficult situation.
