About Nic

Hey I'm Nic/Kiltsman, I am a real life adventurer and game master. I am what is called a triple-crown thruhiker, a Navy Veteran, filmmaker, youtuber, and a resiliency adventure guide. Multiple times a year I take people from all walks of life out into the backcountry to learn to deal with lifes challenges and reconnect with nature. ANNNND I am also a huge nerd. I have been gaming since I can remember and playing DND/DM-ing since 2016. I have run multiple LVL 0-20 campaigns that took years to complete. I have professionally DM'd at Expos/Comic Con, running one/two/three-shots. I enjoy chaos and drama in a good story and in game, just not above the table. I enjoy creating the challenging encounters and watching my players find ways to destroy them in glorious or sometimes hilarious fashion. Most everything else about me you can find via a google search. I'm in it for the story, for the goosebumps, and the puns, so let's play... shall we?

Doing so many things, I am coaching and competing in Archery with a goal of being on the World Stage US Olympics 2028. I am an expedition guide with Team RWB and take veterans out to some of the coolest and most remote places in the world. I also play xbox and PC.

How Nic runs games

I enjoy creating worlds, then sing the different eras to run different campaigns or games. My latest world has had 3 full campaigns and so many one-shots it's hard to keep count. I like a nice balance of combat, puzzles, and roleplay, but I also cater to the table. If the majority of my players are combat focused, then combat will take the forefront. If the majority of players want to roleplay until they are blue in the face, cool. It's all about balance, and making sure all the players (and GM) are having fun.

I enjoy a welcoming and creative table. From newbies to forever GMs that just need a game to play. Powergamers to casual roleplayers. I'm a fan of jokes/puns, especially if they make my brain crawl. I've been know to give inspiration for particularly bad Dad Jokes. Players who like working together to tell a story are my favorite! I love hearing that the players in my campaign discuss throughout the week how/why/what to do for the next session. I am an ALLY and have no problem standing up to bullies. I'm also a big fan of the chaos and drama that happens in roleplay and combat. Did you figure out a way to one-shot the monster? Cool!
