About Skye
Hi! My name is Skye and I've been GMing on and off for the better part of seven years, having run five campaigns of varying lengths and a lot of one shots. TTRPGs are hugely important to me and I've been so grateful for the opportunity to both play and run them for so long and I hope I can give that opportunity to you too.

How Skye runs games
Storytelling and roleplay are my focus in all my games. TTRPGs for me are all about collaborative storytelling. These games are our stories with our characters and together I hope we can make them into something wonderful. I definitely tend to be more lacks with the rules and, whilst I always make sure to prep, my games rely on a healthy portion of improv. Ultimately I want us all to have fun creating this story together and if that means ignoring some rules or tweaking them on the fly then so be it. As a GM my focus for my games tends to be on characters and communities/societies. My games are almost always magical and fantastical but they aren’t epic fantasy Lord of the Rings style, they tend to be more personal in both themes and scope. They are often not globe spanning adventures but set within smaller regions or sometimes just a single settlement where you spend far more time talking to people than fighting monsters. The world is very big but the focus is quite small. The players tend to start off as ‘nobodies’ in the eyes of the world around them but become somebodies, not necessarily heroes but individuals, perhaps by proving themselves but usually more so by finding out who they are and where they belong. I like my worlds to not be in black and white but all the colours of the rainbow, they can be dark and moody yes but there is always hope and lots of space for more lighthearted moments. I like for there to be ample downtime, and while generally the game does have a time pressure (both for the whole thing and for individual quests/adventures) in between the action there should always be space to breathe, even towards the end there is calm not only before the storm but in the eye of the storm (and of course after the storm). I prefer for players to be lowpowered (being, or at least becoming, more powerful than the average person but still needing to use their powers creatively in order to defeat powerful foes) but with lots of different ‘powers’, more horizontal progression than vertical progression. I do not want my PCs to die but it is always a possibility, actions have consequences and if a PC does die it should always be the direct result of their and the rest of the Party’s actions. Whilst my games are not usually about queerness I am queer and I can basically guarantee that any game I run will have queer characters in it. If you're not okay with that then I'm not the GM for you.

Rules are...
Flexible. They're there to assist the telling of the story and so if they start getting in the way they're also there to be tweaked and sometimes even ignored entirely.
Skye's ideal table
I look for players who are at the table to be immersed. I look for people willing to tell a story together with friends. You don't need to do a character voice, you don't need to keep meticulous notes or whatever but you do need to bring your best to the table. These stories need all of us to work and they need all of us to be in this together.
