About The DM Nick

Hey there, adventurers! I go by The Forever DM on Discord, but feel free to call me Nick! I’m 27 years old and have over 13 years of experience playing and running tabletop RPGs, especially D&D and games like it. My style is relaxed, creative, and collaborative. I love running dynamic sandbox campaigns with multiple story threads, tailored to the players’ characters and preferred play styles. Whether it’s a custom world or a published module, I aim to make every session feel personal and engaging. I’m well-versed in both D&D 5e and Pathfinder 2e, and I also run games using the Star Wars 5e conversion. I believe everyone deserves a seat at the table—whether you're a seasoned veteran or brand new to the hobby. My goal is always to create a fun, inclusive space where players feel safe experimenting, exploring, and expressing themselves. My friends know me as a DM who lets chaos reign (within reason!), and I do my best to say “yes, and...” whenever possible. I primarily use Roll20 to run my games, as it's given me the best results in creating immersive, organized sessions. I’ve also run systems like Masks: A New Generation, and I’m always open to learning new ones if it means creating the best experience for my players. More than anything, I want to build lasting memories and foster real camaraderie through shared storytelling. So if that sounds like your kind of table—pull up a chair. Let’s roll some dice and make something unforgettable. All the best, Nick

I became a GM because

I lobe the feeling of guiding people through an adventure, and giving people a great time by the end of it.

I got started GMing...

Back in Community College. I was in a "Geek Club" and they wanted me to run a game. So i ran a game of "MASKS" for them, and i've been doing this ever since. that was...I wanna say just over 12 years ago now.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Playing Fallout or some other video game to pass the time when i'm not working.

How The DM Nick runs games

Friendly, flexible, and focused on fun. My GM style is built around player agency, collaborative storytelling, and creating epic, memorable adventures tailored to your group. Whether you're a seasoned player or just starting out, my goal is to make sure everyone feels welcome and engaged. I run sandbox-style campaigns where the world moves around you—dynamic, living settings filled with intersecting storylines and meaningful choices. Chase a lead, change direction entirely, or stir up chaos—I’ll adapt and evolve the narrative around your party’s actions while keeping the pacing tight and the stakes high. I’m happy to run both official modules (as written or customized) or completely original sandbox campaigns. Many of my groups enjoy a hybrid approach—starting with a published adventure and branching out into personalized story arcs based on character backstories, decisions, and party dynamics. - Virtual Tabletop: Roll20 (preferred) - Character Tools: D&D Beyond is fully supported - Communication: Discord for voice; mic required I tailor the roleplay to match your comfort level, whether you prefer light character interaction or full-on immersive performance (yes, I do voices!). If you're curious and ready to dive into a collaborative, ever-evolving world—join the party. Let’s roll some dice and discover your next great adventure together.

I prep by

Just going off what the players do in a prior session, and let that shape the potential story of sessions going forward. Whether there's a potential combat or otherwise.

My games focus on...

Character arcs and specific roleplay moments, and overall growth of a story. With some mechanical stuff sprinkled in from time to time.

When it comes to voices

I try my best, but for some characters it's best to just use my normal voice.

The DM Nick's ideal table

My table is a welcoming, inclusive space where everyone—no matter their background, experience level, or playstyle—is encouraged to show up as themselves. Whether you're a veteran of many campaigns or brand new to tabletop RPGs, you're welcome here. I foster a supportive, collaborative environment where experimentation is encouraged, creativity is celebrated, and mistakes are just part of the journey. The vibe at my table leans toward relaxed and story-driven, with plenty of room for roleplay, wild ideas, and unexpected choices. Rules matter, but fun and narrative always come first. I strive to build a game that feels safe, open, and engaging, where players are free to explore characters, try weird builds, or dive into the lore without judgment. If you're someone who enjoys being part of a group that cheers each other on, takes care of one another, and values good vibes over min-maxing, you'll feel right at home. Come ready to laugh, feel things, get weird, and make something memorable together.

I am for a vibe that's...

Mostly chill with some room for shenanigans.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Cyberpunk 2077, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Any sort of Science fiction, making your own destiny as opposed to following a pre-set path

I love it when a player

Makes their own character backstory. It shows me that the are immersed in what game they are about to play, and that they're excited to play. I love it because it gives me more material to work with and put in to games for them.
