About TDUBBS

Ready to create a fantastical experience together?! My name is Tom! I'm a queer person of faith, a lifelong storyteller, and a theater-trained creative with a BFA and current graduate work in theology. For me, TTRPGs are more than just games—they’re a space for connection, discovery, and shared imagination. I’ve stepped in as an emergency GM for D&D 5e games at the game café where I worked, and I’ve also written and run one-shots for friends. I bring years of narrative experience and character-driven play to the table, always prioritizing fun, collaboration, and inclusion. As I pursue new job and investment opportunities, I’m also leaning into the skills I love most—storytelling, improvisation, and community building—by offering paid sessions online. I strive to create safe, affirming, and engaging game spaces where everyone feels welcomed and encouraged to shine. I'm well-versed in D&D 5e and currently learning Daggerheart, with a long-term interest in narrative-forward systems that center roleplay and emotional arcs. All of my games are LGBTQIA+ affirming, beginner-friendly, and character-driven. Whether you're here to explore a new fantasy world, grow as a player, or just laugh and roll dice with new friends, I’d love to welcome you to the table!

How TDUBBS runs games

I'm all about story, characters, and collaboration at the table. I love roleplay. Especially the messy, emotional, funny, and chaotic kind that makes it feel like your character's really alive. My background in theater and storytelling helps me to think in arcs and improvise moments to keep the game flowing and giving everyone an opportunity to shine. Combat in my games moves quickly. I maintain flexibility of moves and enemies to maintains a close fight that keeps everyone engaged. That said, for me, combat is more about what it means and how it connects to the story than how many dice someone rolls. And while rules are important, I'm not big on rules lawyering. I lean much more into the rule of cool, focusing on what is fun, and makes sense in the moment and for the story. I am very intentional about creating a welcoming, creative, and queer-friendly space. Safety tools are standard and every voice and concern is heard. The vibe is always about shared fun over perfection.
