Heya! My name's Taylor. I've been playing and GMing TTRPGs for about six years. Games I've run include D&D (5th edition), Apocalypse World, Dungeon World, Dungeon Crawl Classics, Mutant Crawl Classics, Blades in the Dark and The Burning Wheel. I mostly play 5E. By day I'm a software developer. I used to be a magazine journalist, so I think I have a pretty good head for storytelling. In terms of what kinds of games I enjoy running, I like players' choices to be the primary driver of the narrative. I never have a pre-written plot because I think that circumscribes player agency. I see game-mastering less like writing a novel and more like stage-managing a reality TV show: my job is to put the PCs in volatile, untenable situations and watch what they do, not to push them in any particular direction. In terms of tone, I prefer a light-hearted game. More Princess Bride, less Game of Thrones.

GM style

I'm having the most fun as a GM when the players are actively breaking the world. I love when players do things I didn't anticipate and I have to roll with the punches. I like failing forward whenever possible. I like tactical combat, but only if there are stakes. I'm not great at voices but I do a pretty good Dracula.
