Andrea is a superb GM who I highly recommend. He creates evocative settings, believable NPCs, and compelling stories. He weaves character backgrounds into his story and narrates dice rolls so they become part of the drama. He actively encourages good roleplay and player/character input into the story. He seems to be delighted when we surprise him. He also knows the rules well and how to use those rules to enrich the story - without being rule-bound: story and roleplay are still the focus that the rules support. Andrea also explains those rules well. When he runs a prewritten scenario, he makes it his own, and when he designs his own scenario, it's worthy of publication. I've been playing since the 70s, and Andrea is one of the finest GMs I have ever had the privilege of playing with.
I like to watch this gamemaster performing with his enthousiastic body language and a fitting background behind him. He can really blend a new player character in an ongoing campaign and group. I always will remember this wonderful introduction of my player character and roleplaying opportunities in the start of my first game of that campaign. The gamemaster always makes a lot of effort to narrate each dice roll to its best effect.
Andrea manages to find the perfect balance between engaging players, setting phenomenal stages for action, role-play, and other intrigue, all while seemingly infinitely flexible at accommodating what shenanigans players come up with to overcome challenges, creating an incredibly immersive story!
Andrea is an incredibly skilled Game Master who excels at encouraging player creativity and storytelling. Since I was relatively new to the system we played, I really appreciated how Andrea guided us through the rules in a way that kept the game engaging and fun. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I can definitely recommend booking a game with him! 😊

How to prepare
To play the game you'll need a decent internet connection, a decent microphone, and I strongly suggest the use of a webcam, although it's not mandatory! You'll need to join my Discord server, Cortestoria, where we'll keep in touch between sessions.
What I provide
We'll play on Foundry VTT, a virtual tabletop you'll be able to access via your browser, and communicate via Discord. You can expect immersive audio backgrounds, silly (and not so silly) voices, structured and special-effects-enhanced tactical combat when combat happens, and all the effort I can master to bring you the coolest and more exhilarating experience you've ever had playing D&D!
Gameplay details
The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is a PG-friendly game with less focus on combat and more on mystery, whimsy, and deep characters. However, beyond the whimsical elements, darker themes inspired by western folklore legends about fairies will be explored. These legends often blend wonder with fear, portraying fairies as alien beings with unknowable intentions, capable of altering minds and reality. Additionally, as a true carnival, clowns may be involved! Before Session 0 — I'll share the Monte Cook RPG Consent Checklist. Use it to privately inform me of any triggering themes or elements, so I can adjust the game accordingly. Session 0 — We'll get to know each other, discuss Player Characters, address game themes and expectations, and build excitement for the first session. During Sessions — Expect at least one midway break. After Every Session — Feel free to stay afterward to chat, laugh, or discuss the game. Share what you liked ("Stars") and what you'd like to see more of in future sessions ("Wishes"). Your feedback is crucial in creating a safe and enjoyable experience for all players!

How will character creation work
You can create your character however you want, may it be D&D Beyond, the Charactermancer on Roll20, trusty old pen and paper, or directly on our Foundry game! I'll make sure to have an always up to date version of your character sheet on Foundry whatever method you pick. Any of the core species/races and classes are welcome, and if you want you can create your character as one of the two custom races introduced in the adventure module: Harengons (rabbit-looking people) and Fairies. The same goes for the custom backgrounds that are available in The Light Beyond the Witchlight. We can discuss these together once you land on the dedicated Discord server!
