About me
I'd love to become your new favorite NPC and narrate your character's grand adventures. I play D&D 5th edition for a variety of player levels and settings, whether you'd like a 100% customizable campaign, a published adventure, or a homebrewed one-shot. I welcome players of all ages and skill levels, whether you're a novice or veteran. I prioritize making every game fun and foster a respectful environment where everyone can feel safe. I'm not a GM who tries to kill players (unless you want me to), rather I let players make their characters heroes whose deeds are sung throughout the land.
GM Style
I want to become your favorite NPC by bringing you as a player into the creation aspect of the game and tie everybody's backstories into the adventure. I enjoy letting players decide where you want to go and what you want to do, whether that's heading straight for the dragon's lair or forging an underground crime syndicate. You want an old-fashioned dungeon crawl? Great! A Mercer-style roll-play game? Done. Prefer fights to be deadly against intelligent foes? You got it. I like to draw my own maps. I bring my NPCs to life with character voices and personality. I enjoy letting the dice determine the consequences.

I have been playing 1-to-1 Play-By-Post with Tavin for several weeks the Ghost of Saltmarsh module. Our gaming experience has been very good so far. Tav is a very good DM, he is nice, he makes the effort of the description and tries to offer me good quality maps, his posts come at a good pace, but above all I particularly appreciate his way of opening and allowing his players to express their creativity. Tav climbs on the podium of the 3 best DMs with whom I have been able to play so far on StartPlaying.

I'm a first time player, and Tavin has been a patient and forgiving DM, keeping the game moving while keeping me from looking too dumb in front of the other adventurers!
