About Soulkrist
Hello All, I have a true love for the Pathfinder 1e system and world, so much so that I have made it my core game to run. I am passionate about these games and love seeing how they can bring together a group of people for a larger-than-life quest! I have been a DM since the days of D&D 3.5, starting in 2008. I moved over to Pathfinder soon after, making it my preferred system, as I found it to be a good fix to 3.5, as well as their release of amazing material. As a DM, I make it my personal goal to ensure that all players feel like they are part of the game. I prefer to play by RAW (Rules and Written), with flexibility to ensure enjoyability. As a teacher in the real world, I find great pleasure in helping newer players understand this game as well, so know that I am accepting of all sorts.

I became a GM because
I love bringing a world to life for players to live and grow in. I believe players should "win" the game, so seeing them do so through the many challenges is a great thing to experience from this side of the screen!
When I'm not running games I'm...
Hanging out with my wife and cats, or recording video game Let's Plays for YouTube.
How Soulkrist runs games
My GMing style is player-focused, immersive, detailed, and strategic. Major goals: -Allow player actions and RP to matter, both immediately and over time. -Treat encounters with respect to the enemies fought, thus allowng encounters to feel unique and fresh, not simply dice rolls against new sprites. -Give space for meaningful Role Play, both with NPCs and amongst PCs. -Give non-metagaming guidance to those that wish to make more conceptual, in-game decisions for their characters. -Try to avoid players min/maxing, as challenges in the game make up for some of the most memorable moments. -Create a setting of comfort, acceptance, and a place that everyone wants to be during their week!

I deal with rules issues by...
seeing what other players think, as well as consulting FaQs and threads for a greater consensus. I will never claim to know them all, as the rules are too many for any one person to do so.
I prep by
reading the source material thoroughly, ensuring I understand the story, locations, NPCs, encounters, and environments. All of these combined allow for a world that feels real, deadly, and rewarding to live through!
Rules are...
a great way to find unique ways to create and run characters, fights, and games! Sometimes they must be bent, but I love a good RaW game, as it allows us to all know what is and is not allowed.
Soulkrist's ideal table
I look for players that are here to have fun as a group. This is not a single player game, so no one person should be "the main character". I love seeing a party that talks through things, listens to one another's ideas, and thinks outside the box. Combats can either be simple or technical, it is often left to player choice. Have fun, be hind, and follow the rules for a super rewarding gaming experience!

I love it when a player
enjoys their character, be it simple or super complicated. Play the thing YOU want to be for months at a time, as your enjoyment is the ultimate goal!
I think metagaming...
hurts a game for both the metagamer as well as the others. If someone knows the story and just "does the thing" that takes away the mystery for all others.
My table is not the place for...
bullies, jerks, or people that push any form of prejudice. In-game is one thing, real world is simply not acceptable.
