About somehow

🎭 π•¬π–‡π–”π–šπ–™ π•Έπ–Š I run games for immersion. For me, that means more than music, maps, character voices, or atmospheric scenes, although you can expect plenty of those. It means creating a table where your character feels like they genuinely belongs in the world and where the choices you make leave a mark on it. 🌲 I care much more about your characters than protecting the world I've written. My prep exists to give you something interesting to interact with, not to funnel you toward a predetermined story. 🎧 I use music, ambience, sound effects, expressive NPCs, beautiful scenes and battlemaps to help the world disappear around the edges of the table. 🧩 I love weaving character backstories, relationships and decisions into the campaign. If you give me something to work with, I will use it. ✨ My favorite moments are when everyone forgets we're playing a game for a second.

How somehow runs games

βš”οΈ 𝕲𝕸 π•Ύπ–™π–žπ–‘π–Š I'm on your side. The people I impersonate may not be howeve. 🎭 My games are character-first and roleplay-heavy. I want to know what your character wants, what frightens them, what they care about and what they're willing to risk. πŸ—οΈ Problems rarely have one intended solution. Fight. Negotiate. Sneak around. Lie. Run. Make a terrible bargain with something in the woods. If your idea makes sense within the fiction, I'm interested in seeing where it goes. 🌎 The world will respond honestly to your choices. Clever decisions can completely bypass encounters. Reckless ones can make things considerably worse. Consequences aren't there to punish you, they're what make your choices matter. βš”οΈ Combat is cinematic, dangerous and purposeful. I like encounters with objectives, environments and moving pieces rather than endless rooms full of things waiting to lose their hit points. πŸ“– I prepare situations, characters and conflicts rather than scripts. I know what the world wants. What actually happens when you arrive is up to you. πŸ“š I provide optional lore handouts for players who love digging deeper into the world. Read every page, skim the interesting bits, or ignore them entirely. You’ll always have the basics you need at the table, and if you’d rather discover the world naturally through play, that works just as well. 🎲 Rules matter, but they're there to support the fiction. I'll happily embrace creative solutions and Rule of Cool moments when they make sense without making character abilities or meaningful choices irrelevant.

My games focus on...

you and your characters' journey through worlds!

Rules are...

there to set a baseline, but shouldn't restrict creative play. If your idea works in the fiction, it works in-game.

When it comes to voices

I'm not a professional VA, but expect effort and distinct voices!

somehow's ideal table

🎭 Roleplay: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ βš”οΈ Combat: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ πŸ›οΈ Politics & Intrigue: βββββ˜† 🧩 Puzzles: ββββ˜†β˜† 🧭 Exploration: βββ˜†β˜†β˜† My ideal players don't need to be actors, lore experts, or tactical masterminds. They just need to care. ❀️ Care about your character. 🌲 Care about the world they inhabit. πŸ‘₯ Care about the other characters sharing the story with you. I especially enjoy players who like discovering who their character is through play rather than arriving with their entire story already written. Ask questions. Explore things that look interesting. Talk to NPCs. Develop relationships with the other characters. Make decisions because they're right for your character, even when they're not necessarily the optimal decision. You don't need to follow every plot hook I put in front of you. In fact, sometimes ignoring one creates a much better story. ✨ If you're excited to inhabit a character, explore a world and find out what happens together, you'll probably feel very at home at my table.

I love it when a player

Makes in-character decisions, even if that creates in-game complications.

My perfect party mix is

The curious, the hyperactive, the reticent. I love a table of characters who pull at different ends of a solution, who have to make a compromise.

My table is not the place for...

Bigotry, endless rule arguing and impatience.
