About Slimmy
I've been playing RPGs for twelve years, D&D, VTM, Shadowrun and Exalted. I'm a professional actor and stage director and love storytelling, roleplaying and game-designing. It's always an honor to play with new people. I'll be running French and English-speaking games of D&D, Shadowrun, Exalted and Vampire the Masquerade

I got started GMing...
After playing Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodines, I just bought and read the core rulebook of VTM and started running. After that, games started piling up and before I knew it, I was resigned to my fate as forever DM.
My favorite books are
A Song of Ice and Fire, Dune, The Iliad, The Silmarillion, Journey to the West, Remembrance of Earth's Past, The Infinite and the Divine, The Wretched of the Earth, Watchmen, Saga...
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Cunning, Intricate, Evil
How Slimmy runs games
My gaming philosophy is based on two ideas : - The world is *alive*, the people have real personalities and react how they are supposed to. I don't write much of a plot, I tend to drop the characters in the setting and let them engage with the world I build

I deal with rules issues by...
Making a judgement call. I do not allow a game to lose more than a minute in rules discussion. I'll make a judgement call immediately, and after the game I'll check if I was right. Pacing is important and nothing kills pacing and excitement as much as rules issues.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
Guillermo del Toro. He's my favorite director and the one I most seek to emulate in style. Guillermo is a master in juxtaposing brutality and innocence, all-too-real horror with wonder.
Rules are...
Rules. Rules define the paradigm of the game. Understanding that paradigm and what it says about the universe of the game and the stories the game is meant to say is more important than knowing the rules themselves. Crunch and fluff are, in many ways, the same thing.
Slimmy's ideal table
My ideal table is focused. We take breaks, we joke around before and after the game, certainly. But once the game starts, we are in the zone. It's about treating the story seriously and the universe of the game as though it matters, at least for the three hours of the session.

I love it when a player
Takes the initiative. Refuses to follow the plot and what the NPCs expect the party to do but instead, through paying attention to the universe and how it works, makes their own plan and their own idea.
