About Tomás Totaro

Hi! I'm Tomás—though most people online know me as Skur. I've been a dedicated Dungeon Master for the past six years, running campaigns locally, and now I'm excited to take a big step forward by connecting with players from around the world. I take the game seriously because I genuinely love it. For me, playing is serious business: I craft intricate, emotionally resonant stories designed to leave a lasting impression on everyone at the table, and for that reason, I strive to find dedicated players that match my energy. To support that experience, I provide my players with a full-featured VTT (Foundry), custom character art, and collaborative worldbuilding that evolves around their PCs. I believe in creating immersive, heartfelt adventures where every player feels seen and inspired. I'm really looking forward to making new friends and finding fellow storytellers who are just as excited to dive into my campaigns as I am to run them!

I became a GM because

I love the storytelling aspect of the human being. Feels personal when someone shares their experiences, success and mistakes using their character, and I relate to that deeply. I thought I also had something to tell, as everyone has. I hope we can share a story together.

My favorite books are

The Stormlight archive at first place, for sure. Then Lord of the Rings and the Wheel of Time, after that, you can toss something like Dune, which I love too.

How Tomás Totaro runs games

In my games, you can expect intense roleplay scenes, with high stakes on the line where everything can be shaped by the hands of your character. Dont be intimidated by this! If you dont feel comfortable with roleplaying everything, thats alright! You can just describe your actions while we get to know your character together. Also I love doing voices, so I hope you dont cringe when I burst out my full goblin mode. I like doing some combat, and you can expect combat to be high stakes, but also, important to the actual game narrative. You wont be fighting "Random Kobold 1" because I just rolled a random encounter. You will, however, be facing your sworn rival along the campaign, or maybe the master that abandoned you in your backstory. In session 0, we will discuss about possible emotional triggers, and things that we are not in board to happen so we can all have a pleasant experience, after all, I dont really care that much about roleplay, neither about combat, my objective is for everyone to have fun.

My favorite trope is...

Epic fantasy. I love when a hero rises from defeat knowing that they are now a better person. When they fight a full army by themselves to protect their loved ones. When they face the darkness everyone fears, and though they have their flaws too, they side by the light.

Rules are...

Flexible. I think the most important rule is the rule of cool™, and I gm my games with that in mind. However, social rules, like the kind that are established in session 0, are hard lines that are meant to be respected.

When it comes to voices

I am not sure why this is a big deal. I do voices because I think they're cool. If you dont, no problem, a voice isn't something a character needs to be special.

Tomás Totaro's ideal table

Ideal table... I think it is a tricky question, because I wholeheartedly believe that everyone has some story to tell, some experience to share. However, if you're not here to tell a story, and want a tactical gritty combat experience, this is not the table for you.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

Any kind of epic fantasy really. You will find yourself surrounded by enemies with only your blade to help you. You may find that youre the hero of the prophecy, even if you didnt want to. In my games, your character will become a hero, even with their flaws. If you're into that, my game is for you.

I love it when a player

Embraces their character flaws to make a believable, relatable hero.

My table is not the place for...

Resource management, gritty tactical combat, death is expectable old school D&D fans. The threat in my games is always present. This doesn't mean you will die by opening the wrong door or by a random encounter. If you like having 3 character backups, maybe my table is not for you.
