About Jud

I'm the co-founder and host of Short Rest Studios on YouTube. I played my first tabletop role playing game - first edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons - in high school. After branching out to other games like Robotech and GURPS through high school and college, I left the hobby, but came back to it several years ago, and there's been no looking back. I LOVE running Dungeon Crawl Classics and D&D 5e, and I am always checking out new games. One of my favorite things in the whole world is making new friends in the hobby.

How Jud runs games

I tend to be a go-with-the-flow GM. The rules are not as important to me as the experience of the game. I'm not a fan of murder hobos, but I love players' crazy ideas - that's one of the main reasons I love DCC. It lends itself to gonzo action. I love doing character voices - I have like two. But I do them with gusto! I love a tense story, but I also love to laugh. For me it really is all about responding to my players and having fun along with them.
