About Session Eerie | Rae
Hello, traveler! I'm Rae, the GM for Session Eerie. Welcome to my table! When you take a seat at my table, you get to pick up the pen and write your legend - I just provide the world to do it in. Above all else, players should feel safe at my table. If there's any question that relates to my games, I want them to know that communication and requests are always welcome. When a game begins, you'll enter a living world. The choices you make will change the course of history. Your actions and words from even the very first session could give you unexpected influence late-game. Behind the screen, I'm a 19 year old college student with a love for all things creative. Singing, acting, sketching, writing - anything I can use to tell a story. My passion for crafts have shown me that setbacks and surprises are just openings for a new path. For example, I've had the dream of becoming a professional game master since I GM'd my first game of D&D. Yet, it was put with my other daydreams until I got a setback of my own. The setback? I was working myself to death in the sales industry. The surprise? I discovered StartPlaying. The new path? Following that old dream until it's reality. As your GM, I will make sure that when a session ends, that not only have you had fun - that you're excited to see where the next one leads. Now, don't you have a legend to make? Let's get started!

I deal with rules issues by...
... using the 'Convince Me' method! Essentially - convince me it's possible. There may not be *rules* for using an ooze as a weapon, but if you can make a plan to do it, put that ooze in a barrel to make an oversized grenade!
I prep by
... listening to music or ambience! Usually, it's some kind of forest or tavern ambience on YouTube, or my favorite 'Rain Sounds' playlist from Spotify. If I'm running a continuation of a longer campaign, I also go over my notes from previous sessions! I also like having my dice within reach.
When it comes to voices
... I tend to note down phrases to help me remember important ones! Like - if I want Keeno, an NPC, to sound similar to Inigo Montoya, I may write down: >Keeno - Voice: 'Prepare to die,'< I have mixed up the voices sometimes, but I've gotten much better in the past two years! The notes help a lot.
Session Eerie | Rae's ideal table
Honestly, out-of-character respect for one another is the most important thing. Two characters can hate each other or shoot sarcasm at high velocity - but if the insults start going out-of-character, that isn't fun for all involved. I usually have 5-15 minutes planned to get any excess chaos energy out of the table before session. In my experience, it makes the session much easier to focus on and 'lock in'.

I love it when a player
... comes up with an idea I never considered. It's part of the fun - I have an entire plan with elaborate clues and riddles... and when the magic door asks 'What is the sound of silence?', the bard goes 'Hello, darkness, my old friend,' - It may not be what was intended, but it's always great.
My table is not the place for...
... disrespecting other players. Essentially... Keep the insults in-character. There's even a cantrip for it! [P.S.: If another player asks you to stop something, intent is no longer an excuse - Then, you are aware that they're uncomfortable with it, and continuing.]
