About Sean (GM Garlic Bread)
5 years ago I fell in love with RPGs and have been a forever DM ever since. I love teaching new players and guiding their characters on exciting, terrifying, and emotional adventures. I run a LGBTQ+ friendly table and believe deeply in the power fantasy of getting to help people and make a better world, plus slaying dragons. I take great inspiration from Dimension 20, Dungeons & Daddies (not a bdsm podcast), and D&D is for Nerds. Which is to say my natural state is improvising a narrative and compelling relationships while our train rockets off the rails into the limitless expanse of the unknown. I love to run DnD 5e for a variety of tastes not limited to grand globetrotting adventures, harrowing bounty hunting jobs, diving into dark dungeons, exploration of unseen lands, and on one occasion, demonic romance. I also Warden for Mothership 1E (plus Cloud Empress) for those who wish they were aboard the Nostromo in Alien, day dream of hunting Replicants with the Bladerunner Deckard, wanna ventilate some chooms with Edgerunners David and Rebecca, or protect the Valley of the Wind with Princess Nausicaä. Let’s go on an adventure!

How Sean (GM Garlic Bread) runs games
Roleplay and improv are my joys, with the occasional harrowing combat thrown in for climactic moments. We’ll follow the rules as written until they get in our way, and then we’ll do whatever is the most exciting and engaging.

I deal with rules issues by...
Doing a quick search online, making a ruling and sticking to it, researching the rule between sessions.
I once ran a session...
For 12 hours. It was a Halloween mega dungeon that went on waaaaaaaaay too long. Incredibly fun though.

Sean (GM Garlic Bread)'s ideal table
I work best with players who enjoy watching others in the spotlight as much as being in it. Players who want to get lost in their characters and bite into tactical combats are most welcome. And as much as I enjoy "hardcore" gameplay, but there is always a place for banter, bickering, and just general silliness.

I love it when a player
takes a sub-optimal action because it fits their character flaw. Being a murder hobo is not a character flaw, plz don't do that.
I think min/maxing...
Can be plenty fun, who doesn't love combos? But in my opinion it should be balanced by being just as awful at some things as you're good at others, and giving your flaws as much screentime as your strengths. You're a character, not a stat sheet or speedrunner.
My table is not the place for...
Bigotry, sexism, ableism, all the bad -isms, or being a jerk. Shouldn't have to say that, but sometimes you need to. I run a safe table and no one is allowed to threaten that.
