About Ciarán "Sarky" O'Brien
Hello. I'm Ciarán. Or Sarky. I've been playing and running TTRPGs for some 20 years around the Irish games convention circuit, and in the last few years I began freelance writing, most notably for Cubicle 7's Warhammer Fantasy and 40K RPGs. Since the pandemic I've become a Big Fan of VTTs, particularly Foundry, and my games use probably an unhealthy number of mods, but nobody's PC has caught fire yet, so the extra prettiness is worth it. I try to keep my games fun and inclusive. Player consent is important, and if the players aren't having fun then something has gone wrong. Expect running jokes, terrible puns and the occasionally bent or broken rule because if the rules get in the way of something *really cool*, then the rules are at fault. I have been known to stream, but since I moved to the Middle Of Nowhere(tm) it's not something I can do reliably.

How Ciarán "Sarky" O'Brien runs games
Big fan of roleplay, and I will happily throw myself into a range of silly voices for NPCs. Players who do the same tend to win tiny little bonuses here and there. I enjoy a good combat, but I try to keep it moving swiftly and keep it animated, and crunch tends to prevent that so I don't get TOO detailed. Again, players who do very in-character or cool things tend to be blessed with small bonuses.
