About me

I'm Matt, a GM of about 12 years, who's been playing D&D off and on for thirty years. My GM style revolves around the rule of cool. I enjoy telling a collaborative story that piques and maintains the players' interests throughout the campaign. I keep the campaign moving briskly and have very few house rules, which only lend to that rule of cool. That isn't to say that we don't make time for RP at the table; at the end of the day, the players make the choices while I work to facilitate them.

GM Style

I enjoy every aspect of TTRPGs equally, from the RP to the click-clack of the tiny magic fate rocks. I enjoy satire as well as serious. There's not a thing about the game I don't enjoy, except maybe puzzles and maze dungeons. If they do show up in one of my games, they don't last long, and there's always a workaround for those parties who can't figure it out (which I hardly ever do myself, so no judgments there!). That said, I'm big on the "Rule of Cool" and PCs feeling like a real dynamic part of the story as the campaign progresses. The exception here is the Alien RPG, which is 100% survival horror. It's an edge-of-seat ride that requires players to understand that their character will probably die. Soon.
