About me

Hello there! My name is Ryu (pronounced Ree-you) and my pronouns are She/They. I’m an accomplished content creator on the rise and have been nominated for several awards in the e-sports gaming and TTRPG communities! I am a Founder and the Director of Technical Productions for Girls Run These Worlds, an award winning women/femme empowered tabletop production studio. I am a talented but forever learning TTRPG Storyteller and the Dungeon Master and Chaos Mistress for Roll4Luck, a streamed DnD5e blended homebrewed game! I'm in my late 30's and have been playing games since the Atari. I love to watch/listen and play games of all kinds. I love to learn new things about people n the way they think, games n how they are built, the production end of making games n shows, and whatever else sparks my focus! I have played a lot of DnD5e and Pathfinder in the past but have only scratched the surface of the lore behind it all. I have only played TSL, Orbital Blues, and Vampire the Masquerade once each and I have a strong need to play them again along with Star Trek, Star Wars, Demi Gods, Call of Cthulhu and so many more!

GM Style

I believe tabletop games allow players to see themselves in any way their imagination and life experiences can create for fun and personal exploration. I stand at the intersection of Black, LGBTQIA+, neuro-diverse, non-binary, woman, and much more. This fuels my passion for making sure marginalized people have the ability to play at any table as well as making safe spaces of play both in person and digitally! My worlds and gameplay reflect that and my tables are welcome to new and veteran players alike. I can't wait to roll some dice with you! What my tables are like: — Long Term Games (3-10 Sessions) 🎲Player Driven - Players can add to homebrewed stories and bend the tracks of modules in more active ways for the table’s desired gameplay styles (Imaginative Lawyering) 🎲RP Driven - Players can roleplay into a fight just as easily as they can run away to fight another day. Choices matter and mold the story accordingly 🎲Rule of Cool - If the player starts their sentence with “Hear me out…” you might get the desired effects regardless of rules as written! (No, you can not create water in lungs but you can create water around enemies to add extra damage to an electric attack!) 🎲Player Character (PC) “Workshops” - Office hours to discuss homebrewed/alteration options for Player Characters to be built for your story rather than game mechanics 🎲Free Session 0s - A minimum of 1 hour with the table to discuss safety. After the safety portion is complete, then we can use some time to help in finalizing characters for our games 🎲Organized Chaos - See all of thee above! — Short Term Games (1-2 Sessions) 🎲 Rule 0 Enforced - Even I don’t like final rulings or tracks but if it helps the table get to the “good ending” of their story, it will be made and followed 🎲 Free Session 0s - A minimum of 1 hour with the entire table to discuss safety. After the safety portion is complete, then we can use some time to help in finalizing characters for our games 🎲 Rule of Cool - If the player starts their sentence with “Hear me out…” you might get the desired effects regardless of rules as written! (No, you can not create water in lungs but you can create water around enemies to add extra damage to an electric attack!) 🎲 Organized Chaos - The tracks are there but the train can fly!
