About me
I am a lifelong gamer who loves RPGs. Games like Skyrim and Fallout inspired my exploration (and eventual CONTROL :) of TTRPGs. I thoroughly enjoy building overarching landscapes and guiding players as they tell their own stories within them. These adventures can have massive ramifications on a more personal note, but the priority is always to have a challenging yet enjoyable experience. I am a medical cannabis professional with previous experience in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. I am not afraid to let players explore these topics to connect with their characters better. After all, these are made-up stories told by REAL people. I think it is important to respect that fact.
GM Style
I am a balanced GM, prioritizing role-playing and action/combat. Getting into character is a very rewarding experience for most players, and I want to help facilitate that. Even combat provides great opportunities to bring life to your character that doesn't exist in other aspects of the game. While I am not the best at character voices, I usually try to add a comedic component when an interesting character comes up. Additionally, I utilize some voice-altering apps and other technologies to help create an immersive effect. I also take pride in my ability to paint a scene with words to help immerse everyone into the game. Beautifully made visual aids help develop scenes for players Finally, player safety is my number one concern. As mentioned in my bio, I have experience in the DEI initiative and Medical Cannabis. I have become proficient in helping others explore complex topics while maintaining a firm sense of security, and that holds true in my GM Style.

Raul is a really fun DM. He provides a great space to really play with and enjoy your character. He always has something new and cool to add to our game to enhance our experience, whether its mood music or a cool new 3D avatar - he really wants his players to have a great game and it shows. I started playing DnD last year during the pandemic for the first time. As a new player, it was really daunting to enter the vast world where there were so many possibilities and choices. RulyTheCoug was amazing in guiding us during character building and helping us to learn different platforms in which to play. Whether that be Role20, The Forge, DnD Beyond, or even tabletop simulator, he made it absolutely fun and engaging for every member of our party of all different skill and experience levels. His flexibility, attention to detail, and effort he puts into preparing the week's adventures made it feel immersive and epic, especially during boss fights. Overall DnD is about having fun with friends and if you enjoy that, I think he'll be a great DM for you!
