About Rooke
I have played and run RPGs in person and online for the last seven years. My primary format is play by post, where I can take my time to craft posts and narratives, and I can play every day around my other commitments. I'm offering a custom play by post game using a new oracle RPG system, where the tarot cards choose the scenes, the joys, the challenges, the people you meet, and what happens in the world. It's a duet game, with you as the only player and me as the GM. We can play on Discord, Stoat, Signal, by email, or another method by request.

How Rooke runs games
Roleplay is what I do best, and I can create high-quality scenes, environments, and characters in text. I can write in English at your preferred level of literacy and length. You can choose the theme and tone of the game, and a setting that we both know. 5e canon module material and other prewritten material can be adapted for the tarot-run system. In our play by post adventure, I will give you at least one GM reply every day, including weekends. If you are too busy to post for one or more days, that's no problem, I'll wait till you can. I never fudge the dice or cheat with cards. Everything that will happen in your adventure is authentic and human. You can roll physical dice if you want. You have the option (included in the game cost), for me to physically make and send you a daily tarot card pull. The card pull comes with an interpretation relating to your real life. You don't have to provide me with information about your real life to do this. You can stop, start, pause, or restart the daily tarot card pull at any time. Disclaimer: The daily tarot card pulls and interpretations are for entertainment only. Tarot can help people feel seen, affirmed, and inspired to grow. You'll need to be 18+.
Rooke's ideal table
You will be the only player in this play by post adventure, so we can go at your pace. You can get started quickly by using the oracle RPG system's lightweight ruleset to create a character using thirteen words or phrases. (The deck can help you with this too if you want.) Or you can make a character and play with a ruleset you know - D&D 5e 2014 or 2024, D&D 1e, The One Ring, or perhaps others. Whatever ruleset we choose, we can play in combat-focused, regular, combat-avoidant, or no-combat mode. You can cap the challenge level if you want a gentle game, and you can include or exclude NPC romance content. You can adventure with D&D or other existing fantasy NPCs (gender-shifted and modified if you want), or build your own companions, or see who the deck brings to join you. For the cards, you can choose your deck from classic Rider Waite, the Curse of Strahd tarokka, the Deck of Many Things, and the Druidcraft tarot. You can pick different decks for the game and the daily card pulls. If you have a deck at home that you would like to adventure with, you can pull the cards for the adventure and send me pictures of them.
