About Kevin
I may not have as much experience GM'ing as some people in the community, but I've never been the type to dip my toes in the water. I dove straight into the deep end. In my day job, I'm a screenwriter. I love thinking about character arcs and emotional beats, and I bring that to every session I run. Give me your orphaned rogue or your disgraced knight, and I'll weave them into the plot like they were always meant to be there. I'm a Black, queer, USAF veteran who believes that the best TTRPG tables are the ones where everyone feels seen, safe, and excited to show up. I don't do grimdark misery tours or accept "it's what my character would do" excuses for bad behavior. I do fun, interesting settings designed to give my players a challenge and a memorable journey for their characters. New player friendly! Open to homebrew as long as you run it by me first! Let's get together and tell a story!

I got started GMing...
Because I had too many ideas for fun and interesting worlds that I wanted to see played out! And nobody else is going to run the games I've made up in my head, so I have to do it myself.
How Kevin runs games
I love roleplay, though my games tend to lean heavier on combat. About 60-40 in favor of fighting. I enjoy giving my players tactical, challenging fights. It's not memorable if you breeze through every encounter the same way. At the same time, I don't want to put you through a meat grinder if that's not what you're looking for. I split the difference between Rules as Written and Rule of Cool. Breaking the rules to do something insane is fun, but you can't break every rule. I try to keep rulings fair so everyone feels like they're doing cool things.

Rules are...
The foundation of the games that we play, but sometimes they don't work with what we're trying to accomplish (especially when we're trying to accomplish something cool in the moment). And when that happens, the rules can be bent or waived.
When it comes to voices
I'm not great YET. But I'm taking voice acting classes, so they'll get better!
Kevin's ideal table
The players that fit well at my table are those who take the time to create characters that have ties to the world. Players who take the time to get invested in the world and find reasons for their characters to be invested in the story of the campaign. As for the general vibe: it’s collaborative and character-driven. We lean into roleplay and create meaningful consequences. Combat is challenging but not grind-y, and humor has its place, but we respect the tone of the campaign.

I think min/maxing...
is okay when everyone at the table is on the same page about it.
My table is not the place for...
Making anyone feel unwanted.
