About me
I'm a professional Game Master and when I'm lucky - occassional player - of TTRPGs specialising in Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition and Pathfinder 2E. I am passionate about creating an atmosphere of immersion for my games through theatrics, acting, sound effects, music, maps and illustrations for our games. I find it makes everyone more comfortable to play to their fullest :) I have run most of my games through FoundryVTT and know how to customise an adventure module to make it a memorable experience for any player. It is important for me to facilitate a respectful and warm space for everyone to play the characters they want and tell the stories they want. I hope we can build a memorable world together, slay together and stay together!
GM Style
I've always believed my job as the Gamemaster is to be the group's biggest fans. I believe in the importance of epic roleplay moments and epic dice-rolling moments that work together to let the players express their characters fictionally and mechanically to the fullest. Players can expect immersive settings, loveable (and hateable) NPCs and gruelling combats that are all designed to give them opportunities to put their characters in the spotlight. My style revolves around my players and I will always ask you what kind of game you want and tailor accordingly! find me on discord: robininkchen

If you ever have the chance to play in a game where Robin is your GM, drop everything and take that chance. He is an incredible Game Master who works hard to build an interesting and rich world. He'll help your character feel like an integral piece of the story, while also being part of a dynamic party of your fellow players.
Robin has been amazing. I was really nervous coming into the game as I have a bit of social anxiety and was hoping an online game might prove more suitable than an in person game. Robin started with an excellent session zero to set boundaries and set the scene for the character I wanted to play in the world. He was amazing and allowed a great deal of freedom and worked with me to make sure I felt comfortable and that the character I wanted to play could be integrated into the world. If you ever have the chance sign up for Robin's games! I know that once this campaign is over I'll look at signing up to another to experience the world and game he makes!
Robin is an amazing DM who makes your character feel like a part of the world. In the current campaign, I am in, characters have individual side progression, aside from their usual class progression, which is tailored specifically to match the player's playstyle. Robin has built an interesting world, in which, long-distance travel feels immersive and fun. This is amplified by how Robin gives us plenty of items and tools that can be used creatively for survival. Robin allows you to be creative with your spells and resources, allowing for fun and interesting scenarios in which your choices and ideas are important. Robin is an amazing storyteller, he utilizes amazing character voices and FoundryVTT to really bring the game to life. The soundtrack he uses is likewise stunning and enhances every situation.
Robin has been a blast to work with from the start. I came into a already started campaign, and he was able to both inform me of the setting and fit my character into the world. I enjoy how Robin does what he can to be grounded on rules, but is fine with making calls off of common sense. The games are a blast.
If you want a GM who cares about who your character is and what their place in the world can be, Robin is it. It's easy to find games where the character you're playing is just another party member and is defined more by whats on their character sheet rather than what they bring to the setting. I'd describe Robin's style as a storyteller first, but he very confidently weaves in the mechanics of the TTRPG to complement the game he's running. He'll let you go off script and push the edges of the sandbox out, within reason. He's very clever with the way that he controls the pacing of the adventure to give you just enough time to paint the canvas in whatever color you like, but keeping things moving naturally along so we're not stuck scratching our heads at lulls in the adventure. Knowledgeable about the material he's presenting, and excited to share it. Robin is really attentive to each player at the table, and respectful of everyone's time, and does a great job of making sure that at the end of the session, everyone has their 'one thing' (at least) they can take away from it as an individual victory, and not just progress along the prewritten path of the adventure. If someone doesn't have a chance to get a word in, he'll ask for their input. And if they don't have much to say then, I've noticed he tries to give them something to talk about. Responds to DMs outside of the window of game time, puts in some work between sessions when he can to add some custom flair depending on what our group did the game before, has a great memory (or excellent notekeeping, maybe both) for what we did, and runs a well modded Foundry instance that I haven't had any complaints about. Responsive to suggestions, has zero ego about the game or the rules, sympathetic to concerns, adjusts when he needs to on the fly, and is all around a pretty chill guy. He's rooting for the players. He feels like a fifth party member, and not the antagonist of the game. Getting into his games is a steal.
