About Rempelstiltskin
Hello there! David Rempel here, founder of the small independent publishing company Rempelstiltskin Productions! I started GM-ing when the red box was new and have been playing and GM-ing for decades. I bring years of experience and creativity to the table as either a player or a game master, and I feel it's important, as a game master and small publisher, that I play as well to keep that player perspective in mind when designing and running exciting adventures! My campaign style is usually of the modular-adventure-path or guided sandbox variety. I'll use prepublished adventure paths with a theme, or pull in various independent third-party adventures, stringing them together into a campaign with an overarching narrative. Where I can I tweak the modules to add something personal for the PC's. Often, for a change of pace, I'll create something from scratch for my players, and if it works out well and I can make it more generic for other game masters to use and tweak for their own players, I may put it in the queue for publication as a polished adventure or one-shot! That doesn't mean you will be railroaded, though. If you wish to go off the beaten and prepared path, I'm more than happy to oblige :) I'm a big fan of what Kobold Press has been doing lately.

How Rempelstiltskin runs games
I like a mix of roleplaying, having my NPCs react to your PCs' actions. For combat, I don't tend to do one-encounter-a-day style fights; there will be a mix of easy to challenging fights, serving the narrative with story beats and upbeats and downbeats. The exception to this is often during travel sections; feel free to unload with everything you have in those encounters! You'll get a long rest between. I aim to keep combat fun through roleplay during battles or through interesting challenges. For players that aren't big into roleplay, I am more than happy to keep those sections of the story in a more narrative style (instead of roleplaying out the entire scene where you learn the information, we can do a few rolls and summarize parts of the encounter, giving the lore and clues you earned in that way). I can tailor it to each player at the table so everyone is comfortable and enjoying themselves. I've taught many people how to play D&D, so if you are a first-time player, don't be shy; I'm more than happy to help you learn. And for players who don't want to use the Fantasy Grounds VTT, I screen-share a player instance of the game so you can see what is going on and direct your player's actions. Installing and using the VTT is optional in my games, as is turning your camera on during Zoom. I do not allow PvP in my games; my games are meant to be cooperative experiences, and I'm pretty opinionated about that. Let's tell a story together!

I deal with rules issues by...
Doing a quick lookup of the rules, and if it's still unclear I make a ruling with the promise of doing a deeper look before next session. If my ruling was wrong, more than happy to use the currection going forward.
