About REDGoblin

Hi! I play a lot of D&D and some PBTA games, and I love trying out lesser-known systems, like Mouse Guard, SeaPunk, and Dark Souls RPG. I started running games inspired by the YouTuber LynxTales, who narrates so smoothly that he always makes me feel immersed in the world along with all the players, so I started practicing to be like him.

I became a GM because

I love being part of the process of integrating our characters into the world. My favorite DMs take the time to help me find a place for my character in the world or in the story. As I do. Any character can fit into any setting; we just need to take a little time to find their place.

How REDGoblin runs games

I love roleplaying and exploration, I enjoy giving small clues as they explore so that players can speculate and prepare for what the future holds. I am completely transparent and always take my time with players to make sure I understand how they want to interpret their characters. Just asking them what their strengths and weaknesses are is usually enough to come up with some initial hooks that fit better with the adventure. I play with modules, but I always modify them to use my players' backstories, changing some names, events, or even some side quests that are a bit old or too far removed from the plot to create something more consistent with our story.

I deal with rules issues by...

Delaying the discussion to after or before session, Rules gave us a perfect starter as how it should be described or utilized all features, BUT.... to me those traits, spells or backgrounds are at the service of the story and if in our cannon something has more sense changed i prefered like that

I prep by

After each session, i make bullet points of dialogue and actions that some npc's could do to respond to my players and whenever they move to a path of the road I didnt prepare, I encorage them to make me explore along with them, and then use some mental labels as guides to paint their world.

My games focus on...

Making sure your charcter has some floor and weitght on our story Helping you understand what are you capable to do thanks for your background, the role you want to play and even your class Every character works on every settings, we only needs some work for it, and that is my work

REDGoblin's ideal table

The imaginative and original players, the ones who try to make custome descriptions for their features, and reasons why they achive that, I love to make cannon their whimsical ways and affect the world. The ones who take notes and make moves to gain the adventage on the adventures. (The bad guys always had a plan and always could be destroyed by your actions)

I love it when a player

They come up with some crazy plan that might work in our cannon; I love it because they know they’re making a ridiculous effort that might or might not pay off in the end, but more than anything, I love those scenes because no other character could do the same thing.
