About Raven Standefer
Hi, I'm Raven! I am in the process of writing a few books, but I love running 7th Sea and Household. I love learning new things, and am more than willing to work with my Players to tell their story. Like many folks, I started tabletops in college. I was working on getting my Associate's in English Ed, but life had other plans. I usually try to keep the rules lenient, even in rules-heavy systems. I have been working on trying to learn systems outside of 7th Sea, including, but not limited to Call of Cthulhu, Edge of The Empire, The One Ring, and Outgunned. I am still learning the systems, but look forward to GMing them. My games are queer, trans, and disabled person-friendly. (I'm the first two of those things, so it would be really weird if I wasn't inclusive.) I love collaboration, so my players are able to really shape the world around their characters.

My favorite books are
I have a list starting with Empire of The Vampire, American Gods, and the newest Thrawn book trilogy.
My favorite system of all Time is
I love running 7th Sea. It was the first TTRPG that I've run. The system is a d10-based system that heavily relies on story-telling rather than dice rolls.
When I'm not running games I'm...
I am usually working or spending time with my friends and family. There are also times I am gaming.
How Raven Standefer runs games
I love to roleplay with characters and hear all of those juicy decisions. I do my best to voice characters, but sometimes I do not try to replicate their accents because they are either hard for me to replicate or too disrespectful to. I like to have Player agency in all of my games, and will try to accommodate most anything. When it comes to Wounds/Stress/HP, I try to keep PCs alive, even if they are Helpless/KOed.

If my games were movies, they would be directed by George Lucas and Morgan Freeman without question.
Rules are...
Above all else there to help people stay safe while having fun. Someone shouldn't hurt everyone else at the table because they feel like it.
When it comes to voices
I do my best to do impersonations and accents to help myself and the players with immersion. I can do several, though not all accents or impressions.
Raven Standefer's ideal table
I usually do my best to keep the table as relaxed as possible. The opposite is true with a horror or espionage game. I try to keep the table on edge during a horror or espionage game

I love it when a player
I love it when a player knows as much as or more than me in any given system. It allows for players and I to be able to correct each other about what the lore says. (With that being said, I do have Homebrew for a couple of systems.)
I think metagaming...
Metagaming does not belong at my table. If I believe that you are metagaming in a sense that would ruin the fun for the others, I will address it with you, but will likely allow you to continue playing at the table.
My table is not the place for...
My table isn't a place for sexism, racism, or nationalism because the only way any of those three things "works" for people is when those people have nothing better to do than hurt other people.
