I became a GM because I love the moment when imagination becomes shared reality. I have always been a dreamer and worldbuilder, but TTRPGs gave me a way to invite other people into those worlds and let them leave a mark. The best part of GMing is watching players surprise
How Matthew runs games
My GM style is immersive, player-driven, and responsive. I love “painting the scene with sound,” using music and soundscapes to help players feel the tension, wonder, danger, or emotion of a moment. I also care deeply about agency: the world should respond logically to what players do, not just wait for them to follow a script. My goal is to create vibrant, authentic worlds where player choices matter and where the table feels like they are experiencing the story from the inside.
Matthew's ideal table
My ideal table is collaborative, curious, and invested. I love a group that wants to engage with the world, care about the choices in front of them, and support each other in telling a memorable story. I enjoy players who bring creativity, humor, emotion, and bold decisions to the table — whether that means deep roleplay, clever problem-solving, cinematic combat, or simply being excited to see what happens next. The best table, to me, is one where everyone feels welcome, everyone gets room to shine, and the story becomes something we could only have built together.
