About Brian G. (PonSquared)
I am a long time D&D player having started at the beginning of 2nd edition. For the past 6 years I have been running several D&D campaigns and loving every minute of it. I am the perfect DM for those of you who want to learn how to play D&D, or/and play with a DM that isn't here to make a political statement. I just want to enjoy some great time sitting around our shared table weaving stories and limenting my poor rolls. If you want a high-energy DM of a thousand voices who loves to laugh and have fun, then please reach out and grab a seat at my table.

I got started GMing...
When I realized I loved having my brain work at 120% for 4 hours at a time. I am a forever DM if there ever was one!
People are always surprised when I tell them
I am a retired elementary school teacher, I am 50, and I live in Japan.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic.
How Brian G. (PonSquared) runs games
I am a cheerful and high-energy DM that loves to laugh and cry along with his players. I can be serious and do what needs to get done when I need to, but I much prefer playing the game with my players and not against them. As I often say, "If were not having fun, then what are we doing here?" I enjoy running campaign that lend themselves to comedy or heroic deeds. I do not enjoy gloomy and depressing setting such as Ravonloft or Icewind Dale. While I can provide players with an excellent experience in those locals, I'd much rather not spend years wading through a depressing shlog of sad events and depressing nightmares. As a part-time game designer I love to create magic items, monsters, subclasses, species, and so much more. Look forward to a lot of very cool options in one of my games!

I deal with rules issues by...
I make a decision so as to not slow the game down if we can't find the correct way to implement the rule in 1-2 minutes. After the session I research the unknown rule and discuss my findings with my players.
My games focus on...
Having a good time, be it silly role-playing, horror filled nightmares, or intense action and exploration. Whatever my players want out of D&D, I aim to please.
When it comes to voices
I have many voices both male and female, and I love to use my full range when emmoting them.
Brian G. (PonSquared)'s ideal table
I am pretty much happy to DM for anyone who doesn't curse all the time, acts like a boss to me or the other players, or people who get angry and say things like, "If I don't get X then I am quitting the campaign!" As I do not allow multiclassing at my table, I also don't get along with people who won't play unless they can multiclass.

I think min/maxing...
Its fine. Is this really an issue in D&D?
My perfect party mix is
Whatever you want to play. I can adjust the campaign to deal with any party composition.
