About Nicole
Hi, I'm Nicole! I'm an RPG blogger and professional GM/Storyteller from the Netherlands. I've played TTRPGs for over twenty years now, and I've GM'd for the greater part of that, with long-time experience covering Pathfinder & Starfinder; Daggerheart; World of Darkness games including Vampire, Hunter, and Mage; plus other titles like Fate, Dungeon World, and Blades in the Dark. All my adventures are handmade, giving me a deep personal connection to every campaign I run and the characters in them. Make an impact — change the worlds you play in! Additionally, my games are always new-player friendly. See a game you're interested in, but haven't played before? Send me a message!

I became a GM because
I love breathing life into people and places, seeing how my players surprise me, and interpreting their actions and the effects they have in a living world!
When I'm not running games I'm...
...writing about games! I run a blog where I play and review Solo TTRPGs. I also have in the ballpark of ~500 private threads from different Play-By-Post games I've accrued over the years...
How Nicole runs games
I'm a System Enthusiast: I believe each game system shines for its own qualities, and I craft stories for my players that play to those strengths. In Pathfinder or Starfinder, I'll make sure there's opportunities for exciting, tactical combat that rewards thinking strategically. In Daggerheart, combat serves a cinematic storytelling purpose, which gives us opportunities to showcase high-concept characters who might solve problems with both sword and sway. And in World of Darkness games, expect deep roleplay and character exploration to underscore every experience!

I once ran a session...
where I simulated temporary amnesia by handing players' character sheets to the person beside them. For the duration of session 1, everyone had to piece together who they were playing just from the stats on the page — then deal with the consequences after receiving their original sheet back again!
Rules are...
important, curated suggestions to help deliver a specific type of story. They provide framework, scaffolding, and even guidance — and should be extended to fit the needs of a given story!

I love it when a player
surprises me with a solution I hadn't even thought of. Sometimes I gotta say no, but I love saying yes.
My table is not the place for...
the outside world. We're here for escapism, and our sessions are so much more memorable when we fully embrace that!
