About Hannah Corum

I began running tabletop games in 2013 during high school and transitioned to professional DMing in 2018, when I was invited to host horror one-shots at PAX conventions. While I continued running games online, things slowed down after 2020. However, I’ve remained active by offering free games for friends and community outreach and I’m now excited to return to professional DMing on a larger scale. My experience spans a wide range of player types, thanks to years of convention work and community engagement. I specialize in horror-themed adventures, but I have a deep love for classic Tolkien-style high fantasy and heroic storytelling. My DM style is heavily focused on improvisation and roleplay. I thrive with chaotic players and adapt my storytelling to their choices. While I guide players through key plot points, I prioritize player agency by allowing characters to shape the world around them. I rarely say no unless a choice breaks the game or disrupts others' enjoyment. Actions have consequences IE: murder hobos might find themselves jailed or hunted, but they’re almost never shut down arbitrarily. My goal is to create immersive, reactive worlds where every decision matters. Even when I am running pre written adventures. From horror to epic fantasy quests I bring passion, flexibility, and a deep respect for collaborative story telling to every session. I want to create memorable stories where my players feel seen, challenged, and empowered to shape the stories we tell.

I got started GMing...

In highschool! I was TERRIBLE!!! It took so much practice and dedication to get to where I am now.

My favorite books are

I love Scythe by Neil Shusterman and classic horror books like Frankenstein and Dracula! Also what DnD nerd hasn't read LotR or watched the films a million times?

When I'm not running games I'm...

I ride a Onewheel and honestly am involved in all things arts and crafts including 3D printing and painting minis!

How Hannah Corum runs games

Expect a wild ride. My games are improv-heavy, roleplay-rich, and full of player-driven chaos (the good kind). I love watching characters make bold choices and then crafting a world that reacts. Whether that means a tavern brawl turning into a city-wide manhunt or a heartfelt moment with a haunted NPC who just wants a hug (or your soul). I specialize in horror, so you’ll get creepy vibes, unsettling mysteries, and probably a morally questionable decision or two. But I also have a soft spot for classic high fantasy! I love heroic quests, ancient prophecies, and dragons who might offer you tea before incinerating your party. Combat? Oh, it happens. And when it does, it’s tactical, dramatic, and always flavored with narrative stakes. But if you’re here to talk to ghosts, seduce demons, or accidentally become the sultan of The City of Brass after waterboarding a primordial fire elemental (Yep that happened once in a high level campaign), you’re in the right place. Basically: if you can dream it (and it doesn’t ruin the fun for others), I’ll find a way to make it happen—with consequences, of course. So! Bring your dice, your drama, and your questionable moral compass. Let's play!

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Imagine a cross between Wes Anderson and Peter Jackson for most of my fantasy games. For my horror games? Hard to say exactly. I draw a lot from the silent hill franchise and from horror classics like Dracula and Frankenstein.

I once ran a session...

That went for 16 hours!!! It was some of the most fun I've ever had.

My games focus on...

Character development! My prep and story planning usually resolves around trying to find ways to push your character. This is how I create meaningful stories and exciting steaks-driven combat.

Hannah Corum's ideal table

Players of all levels are welcome at my table. From your first game ever to your millionth session I keep it engaging and fresh. New players can expect a patient GM who can guide you through every step of the game. While veteran players can expect a wild ride from a GM who will help you craft the perfect backstory and won't pull any punches no matter what chaos you bring to the table!

I love it when a player

Gets so comfortable with a group they don't feel scared to throw out big monologues or detailed discriptions of what their characters are doing.

I think metagaming...

I think metagaming is unavoidable. I trust my players to know the time and place for it and fall back onto roll play for what a character would or would not do. But as long as everyone is having fun then I don't see an issue!

I think min/maxing...

Perfectly fine! It's my job as a DM to balance out encounters and player characters. So if i think you're an OP god compared to the party we an talk
