I’m a lifelong nerd and gamer, a dad, a husband, and a product designer. I have a fond nostalgia for fantasy and sci-fi media from the 80s to the 00s. I am a former 5e DM who has become a (mostly) OSR referee with a preference for Mörk Borg and its clones. Lately, I’ve been on a history binge. Mostly reading up on the golden age of piracy and the Spanish War of Succession that preceded it.

How Phil runs games

Beer & pretzels. Player-agency. Rule of cool. Dad jokes. The dice decide. When I'm not doing silly voices or making pop culture references, I'm doing my best to ensure my players are the ones driving the narrative and adapting to their decisions (even the terrible ones). My tables are always 18+ and will include foul language and some adult themes, but I take great care to make sure nobody's boundaries are crossed.
