About Erika
Well met, adventurer! I'm Erika and I hope to be your GM! I've been playing TTRPGs since 2015 and GMing since 2016. I know how to quickly adapt to anyone's style of play to make the game fun and enjoyable for everyone, having run games for hundreds of unique players from all walks of life—from home games to conventions to organized play. I love being able to facilitate exploration of the world and character growth of the PCs at my table. Whether you're a character-driven storyteller or a combat strategist, I will create an environment where you will thrive. My tables are safe spaces. Bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated.

I became a GM because
I always had ideas of how I would do things differently as a GM when playing at other GMs' tables, so I finally decided to turn my thoughts into action and I've never looked back.
My favorite shows/movies are
The Knives Out series, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, How I Met Your Mother
When I'm not running games I'm...
playing video games (Professor Layton and Ace Attorney are my faves), reading detective novels, painting, and spending time with my dog!
How Erika runs games
I enjoy telling robust stories with my players. You should feel fulfilled once a story come to an end. I also am driven by combats that challenge you—not encounters that are overpowered for the sake of being overpowered, but ones that challenge your thought process and make you come up with new strategies so you're not doing the same routine every round. One of the most important aspects to me is having clear communication with my players, both in and out of game. I make efforts to ensure descriptions of the scene or information that's important to the story are not lost upon my players so that we can tell a cohesive story together.

I prep by
highlighting the text with a several-color code and rereading the upcoming section for prewritten adventures, or outlining where I want the story to go in the near, middle, and distant future for homebrew campaigns.
My games focus on...
discovering the story together as a group. I love dropping threads over time that are all tied up by the end.
Erika's ideal table
First and foremost, members of the LGBTQIA+ community are absolutely welcome at my table. I like a table where there is levity, though not quite cartoon silliness, and I appreciate players who are able to let a scene breathe when things are more serious. My games are well suited for players who are not only interested in playing their characters, but want to see how the world moves and shapes to their choices.
Featured Prompts
I am for a vibe that's...
full of camaraderie—we're all working toward the same goal!
I love it when a player
proposes a creative solution to a problem! I try to prepare for all possible outcomes, and yet my players still find ways to surprise me.
I think min/maxing...
can be interesting as a character building exercise, but usually isn't fun to play with at the table.
