About Scott C. (Director)
Hello! I've been a GM for a decade now, running multiple long lasting sessions for friends, family, and strangers. I love introducing new players to TTRPGs. My two biggest traits for my players and myself are: - Respect for everyone's time at the table - Communication I hold myself to a high standard of quality from session to session and always look for feedback to improve. BIPOC, ND and LGBTQ+ Friendly! ๐ณ๏ธโ๐ To play you will need: - Microphone - Discord - PC (Mobile devices don't work very well for many VTTs) - Relatively quiet space to play Optional: Camera (This is optional because not everyone is comfortable with sharing their face online. I ask for this because it helps keep things personal and engaged when I can visibly see how people are reacting to what's happening, also makes it easier to see who wants to jump into a conversation without interrupting verbally)

I became a GM because
I've always been the social glue. I'm the event planner, the socializer, the one who makes sure he has everyone he loves together as often as our busy lives can manage.
The three words my players would use to describe me are...
Intentional Thoughtful Tactical
When I'm not running games I'm...
Spending time with my wife and daughter. Taking care of the house. Or immersing my mind in a movie, game, or book.
How Scott C. (Director) runs games
I have a philosophy as follows: - Cut to the action (No wasting time with tediousness or busywork) - Maximize tension (The most dramatic story propelling things are sought out) - Actions have consequences (Telltale Games "Everyone will remember that" moments) - Choices are meaningful (you will have impact on the outcomes in front of you, but what is ignored doesn't stop because you aren't looking at it) - Believable behaviour (intelligent creatures/NPCs will act intelligently, obvious flaws and weaknesses will be exploitable, they will not be handled with GM Fiat)

My games focus on...
a mixture of realism in the sense of everything feeling like it belongs, actions having weight, and choices having depth. These are keys to keeping myself immersed in our shared gathering of delusions.
Rules are...
my default. I know them inside and out, and adjudicate using them often. But that doesn't mean I don't set them aside when necessary, or seek out ways to make sure my players will feel heroic.
Scott C. (Director)'s ideal table
I have a tactical and crunchy style to my sessions. I like to give my players dramatic scenes and meaningful consequences. My ideal player is one that's invested in everybody at the table, not just themselves. You don't have to know every rule, or remember every plot point along the way. As long as you care about what's happening at the table we will get along and tackle the rest.

I love it when a player
inhabits their character, making decisions framed from their lens and leans into the drama that follows. playing out your flaws in a way that respects the table and builds your character. Doing what your character would, even if it isn't the best choice in the situation.
My table is not the place for...
judgement, selfishness, or insincerity. If you're at my table I want you to be free to be who you are, engage with everything you've got, and have respect for everyone's effort and time.
