About Juan
Hi! I’m Juan (Nuedama). I have been a tabletop RPG player and Game Master since 1997, a journey that has led me to fall in love with the creative freedom of homebrew campaigns. Professionally, I work in design and illustration, which naturally influences the way I visualize my games and the atmosphere I bring to the table. My focus is always on the narrative and emotional depth of the story. I enjoy games where the characters' choices and their personal growth take center stage. For me, tabletop gaming is a collaborative art form where we come together to create a story that is as meaningful as it is thrilling.

How Juan runs games
I run my games with a 'Narrative First' philosophy. My goal is to keep the story flowing and the tension high, prioritizing the Rule of Cool and logical rulings over strict, immersion-breaking rulebook consultations. What to expect at my table: Character-Driven Stories: I prioritize acting, character development, and narrative choices. I prefer deep roleplay over mechanical optimization or purely tactical combat. Atmosphere and Immersiveness: I focus on creating a tangible sense of dread and mystery, especially in genres like Cosmic Horror. Collaboration: We are here to tell a story together. I value players who engage with the world and with each other to build something unique. Fair but Gritty: Especially in Call of Cthulhu, I aim for a balance where the world feels dangerous and your characters' survival feels earned, focusing on the psychological toll of the journey.

I deal with rules issues by...
Listening to the table and reaching a group solution. While the GM always has the final word to keep the game moving, I believe it is fundamental to hear the players' perspectives first.
If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...
They would be inspired by the atmosphere and mystery of Dario Argento’s work, combined with the mounting dread and storytelling style found in John Carpenter’s films.
My games focus on...
Immersion and collaborative storytelling with a serious, dedicated tone, set in carefully crafted homebrew worlds. I build narratives where the core experience is uncovering clues and piecing together mysteries to achieve meaningful goals.
Juan's ideal table
Everyone is welcome at my table, especially those eager to uncover unsettling stories as a group while respecting the game's tone. I aim for an immersive experience of cosmic horror and psychological tension where, although we laugh out-of-character, we keep our characters feeling the dread and vulnerability of the story.
