About Ryan
Like many, I learned to DM in order to entice my friends to learn to play. Having run games casually for 15+ years, and professionally for 4 of those years, I've come to truly call the DM seat home - not out of obligation but out of love for the role. I first learned to play D&D 3.5, and then Pathfinder 1e. Eventually I spent a bit of time playing micro systems, and then Pathfinder 2e before finally settling on D&D 5e as my current primary system. The biggest lesson I learned that spans across multiple systems is that we really are just here to have fun. The system matters - just not as much as having fun matters. I love meeting new people, and I love playing games - so I look forward to meeting and playing with you! -Ryan

My favorite system of all Time is
Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 - it's what I learned on. For years, it's been my favorite system but I've also learned to grow with the community through various editions.
How Ryan runs games
My first goal is always player engagement. That starts by knowing you as players, and then your characters as well. I do my best to keep track of events in the game so they can have consequences, good or otherwise, down the road. In combat I like to keep things thematic, and tactically challenging through either creature actions, or environmental factors and secondary goals. In roleplaying, I encourage players to think like their characters and to really get into the mindset of walking in their shoes.
