About Craig

I’ve been playing Dungeons & Dragons since I was 10, starting back in the AD&D 2.5 era, and I’ve played every edition since with the exception of 4th edition, we can forget about that one. I currently run campaigns in both classic 5e (2014) and the revised 5e rules (2024), so whether you want the familiar feel or the newest updates, I’ve got you covered. I’ve been DMing for around a decade and I focus on clear pacing, fair spotlight, and sessions that feel like you made real progress. One of my groups has been running for almost six years with near-weekly sessions consistency and long-term story are where I shine.

My favorite books are

The Unhewn Throne: I love the ruthless politics, constant tension, and how hard it is to put down. Mistborn: The magic system is genius, the heist vibe is fun, and the twists always land. Lord of the Rings: Pure comfort epic fantasy, unmatched worldbuilding, and it still inspires everything.

The three words my players would use to describe me are...

They’d say I’m a cinematic DM, I make it feel like you’re inside a film, not just rolling dice.” They’d say I’m fair but firm, choices have consequences, and the world reacts like it’s real. They’d say I’m prepared and immersive, strong NPCs, vivid scenes, and fights that stay punchy.

How Craig runs games

Expect high fantasy adventure with a strong story drive, memorable NPCs, and a world that reacts to what you do. I run a balanced mix of roleplay, exploration, and combat with plenty of character moments, but with clear objectives and sessions that move forward. Combat is tactical and meaningful rather than a slog: smart enemies, terrain, and choices that matter. I’m consistent, fair, and I keep a steady pace. One of my groups has been playing almost weekly for nearly six years.

If my games were Movies they'd be directed by...

Somewhere between Peter Jackson’s epic fantasy scale and Christopher Nolan’s razor-tight tension — big, cinematic stakes with clever, consequence-heavy twists.

Craig's ideal table

My table is cinematic, fast moving, and story first. I usually run big high fantasy adventures with vivid scenes and memorable NPCs, but I love shifting into gothic horror or dark fantasy when it suits the story. The vibe is something I tailor to the people at the table, I’ll match the tone you want, whether that’s heroic and uplifting, tense and eerie, or a mix of both. I’m best suited to players who enjoy a bit of roleplay, like working as a team, and want a game where choices matter and the world reacts. It’s friendly and welcoming with room for laughs, but when we hit a serious moment, we lean in and make it count.
