About me

Welcome one and all! I'm an experienced teacher, an avid reader and writer, and a world traveler. I put these aspects into my games to create diverse, immersive worldbuilding and roleplay. I am new to StartPlaying, but I've been running Adventure's Leagues and personal games for almost a decade. I have a love of roleplaying, voice acting, improv, fantasy and science fiction. I love to guide new GMs and players into the wonderful world of TTRPG. An inclusive table is important, so all are welcome to sit beside me as we adventure. Safety is my number one priority at the table. It's my goal to give everyone a memorable experience. I primarily run Monster of the Week, but I also love Mothership, Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Daggerheart, and other systems. I provide immersive experiences through a blend of ambient music and sundry characters and maps.

GM Style

A great game is made of equal parts roleplay, exploration and combat. I strive to make each of these as interesting and entertaining as possible! Each game is catered to the players, built to satisfy your hopes assembled around our collective table. I love roleplay. Every character will have a voice of some sort to tickle your ears. Combat can be quick and easy, or crunchy and strategic. My style is versatile and adaptive. We can make a game that suits all the players at the table. The most important part is fun!

Aaron had deftly created a fantastical world where all of the player characters are interconnected in meaningful ways. Each time I've played at his table, there have been moments that were both moving and fascinating, and at the end of each session, I feel as though my life had been slightly changed (in a good way of course).

I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to Monster of the Week. Aaron provides great resources in advance to learn the game and teaches quickly on the fly while keeping it fun and moving along. His improv skills and ability to weave player contributions (and callbacks to those contributions) into the story are amazing. His descriptive language and music choices evoke the perfect mood to immerse yourself. Whether you're a veteran player or someone who's been curious about MOTW but doesn't know where to start, definitely pull up a chair to Aaron's table!

I had a wonderful time at Aaron’s table! His storytelling is so much fun, with lovable NPCs (and voices), colorful descriptions, and a winding mystery to solve. The energy at the table was welcoming, supportive, collaborative, and so creative! Our team worked together and apart, with scenes for everyone to thrive and live their best lives in. The pacing was great, the story draws you in, and 3 hours flies by so fast! Regardless if it’s your first time with the system or if you’re experienced, you’ll have a great time!

My second time playing Monster of the Week was just as good as the first. Aaron is a great storyteller, keeps things moving, and is enthusiastic about everyone's characters and their choices. He also may be the most skilled at theater of the mind of any GM with whom I've played, producing off-the-cuff concise but intensely visual and immersive description and narration.

Simply Amazing! Aaron is a top-notch story teller and did a fantastic job guiding us on our journey. One of the best Monster of the Week mysteries that I've been a part of. I highly recommend! Edit: After several more sessions with Aaron, he just continues to impress. If you haven't tried Monster of the Week with Aaron yet. What are you waiting for? Do it!
