I have been playing D&D since I was a sophomore in high school, which doesn’t feel long ago but definitely is now. I have a degree in wildlife biology and my day job is working as a conservation educator. I enjoy playing with players of all experience levels, so new players are welcome!

How Brandon C. runs games
I love a good mix of combat and roleplay but I definitely lean more towards roleplay. I am not super rules heavy and I think the rule of cool is more important than any other! Anyone is welcome at the table so long as they are respectful of others. I think TTRPGs should be a safe and fun place for collaborative storytelling between the players and the DM. I enjoy trying new systems so I’m open to running games in systems I haven’t played before!

Challenging destiny. I love the idea that the future is prewritten by someone or something and the players/main characters get to push against that and fight for their destiny.

My games focus on people. I think my greatest strength is putting the spotlight on the players and also filling my worlds with fun, charismatic, and interesting NPCs.
When it comes to voices
I am much better at doing silly voices than accents. I am all down for giving different NPCs voices but my inability to do accurate accents means I tend to stay away from them.

My ideal tables is full of players excited to engage with the story I have written as well as the stories focusing on their fellow players. I do my best to incorporate back stories into the overall plot so I enjoy highlighting players throughout the campaign. I do not have an experience preference and new players are always welcome at my table.

Relaxed and fun but willing to engage with serious story moments when they present themselves. Overall the game is meant to be fun but I think the game works better if we can also engage with serious story beats as well.

Is ok in the right setting. I think this is mainly a conversation for session 0 so both the players and the DM can set expectations for the campaign. Wanting to play an optimized character is ok so long as everyone is onboard.

Being rude or disrespectful. We are all dedicating our time and energy to showing up for a fun experience. At my table respect is nonnegotiable. If that cannot be given among players than it is better to find another table.
