About Ninito
👋 I'm Ninito. I'm an Obssessed High Effort GM™. 🧙♂️ I've been running games, writing setting booklets, handcrafting handouts, editing campaign trailers, commissioning campaign artwork, making world maps, and doing silly voices for over a decade. 🎲 I've ran D&D 5e, Pathfinder 2E, FATE, Dungeon World, Forbidden Lands, and others. I studied game design in college and worked for some time as a game developer. I now work in cinema and movie VFX, including on movies you've probably seen. I'm drawn to all things creative. 💡 If you're interested in playing, do check out my GM Style section and see whether the games I run are for you.

People are always surprised when I tell them
I was the DM on my first TTRPG session ever, and I hadn't seen anyone play before - all I had was the words from the Player and GM books to guide me. The session was pure chaos, totally broken, and kinda fun. I stuck to it, and a decade later it's probably my favourite hobby!
How Ninito runs games
The games I run have four core tenets: 💥 Cinematic Action 🔥 Your character will run across falling bridges. They will hold on to someone's hand while dangling from the edge of a cliffside. They will make a leap of faith off a tower and get picked up by a giant eagle just in time. And I will cue a dramatic orchestral soundtrack as it happens. ⚔️ Novel, Tough Combat 🛡️ There'll be plenty of tough encounters, but not just because of CR. You'll have fights in sky-high freefall, defend vulnerable innocents while outnumbered and outgunned, you'll race to control magical artefacts in complex three-way fights, and more experiences that keep combat fresh. I will test your tactical thinking, your self-preservation instinct, and your creativity! We won't use battlemaps often. 🧩 Complex Overaching Conflicts 🔍 Your character will have plenty of duels and skirmishes, but those will be small pieces of wider crises that can't be solved through violence alone. You'll need to navigate complex political spheres, old cultural rivalries, famine, diease, and worse to save the day. 🌀 Ongoing Character Development 🔀 Change is one of the most important ingredients of a good story and a character. I will collaboratively build your character's story with you. I will present them with situations that force them to change, and, maybe, work with you to give their story a great ending - be it through a noble death, retirement, ascention, or another fitting end. Regardless of the outcome, your character will renew themselves throughout play.

The Wachowski Sisters. Over-the-top action, interwoven with dialogue that makes you think and big characters developing through big stakes.
Ninito's ideal table
You'll be a good fit at the table if: 📖 You're a Storyteller 🗣️ As a player, you recognise that you're just as responsible for building a good story as the GM. You're the type of adventurous person that when faced with a seemingly bottomless abyss you say "I jump in!" instead of "That looks dangerous, guys. Let's go home". 🤝 You're an Active Collaborator ✍️ When you're creating your character you reach out to the GM and ask questions like "Do you have any ideas to help tie my character to the world?" and "I'm planning on playing X - how do we tie that into the campaign's themes?". During play, you collaborate with the other players by engaging with their characters, and go out of your way to create memorable moments that involve the whole group. ❓You Play to Find Out ❗ You come in to the table with your character, an idea of where you'd like to take them, but also a willingness to let go of those ideas and embrace what the narrative gives you. This can mean embracing character death and making it a memorable conclusion to their story, but also embracing character growth, and responding to the narrative opportunities that the story gives you.

I love it when a player
Volunteers to add something to the world and the story; like making homebrew about their character's home city, or a new spell their wizard discovered. This collaboration paves the way for greater investment on the story, and lets players guide the direction they want the story to go.
