About Niko Kat

Hi! My name is Niko Kat, and I've been a DM for a little over a year now! Most of my campaigns are fueled by my ADHD, hyperfixations, and special interests, so any one of my stories can be a mish-mash of silly, whimsical stuff, and gross and demonic! Though I have vague notes and plot points of what I want campaigns to consist of, I usually improvise, and make things up as I go, and honestly, I think I do a good job at it. I'm definitely no Brennan Lee Mulligan, but I think I can tell and weave a story together that's engaging and leaves players wanting more.

How Niko Kat runs games

I try my best to bring a little bit of everything to the table. I love roleplay, as it gives players a chance to flesh out their characters, and I adore combat, since it allows players to show off their character's strength. Though I am very story driven, I always give those opportunities for combat. There's a few things that I like to do, some original things of mine, while other things are from different creators: 1) Secret Death Saves: only the DM and the player knows what the dst outcome is 2) Practice Action: if your character can't do something, or has never done it before, they roll at disadvantage, until they do it often enough that they perfect the action 3) Meet it or Beat it: if the total roll on the hot die matches the AC of a target, roll a d6. Even numbers will get extra damage, off numbers cancel the damage altogether. That's only a few things I can think of off the top of my head, but I hope these things are interesting enough to bring people in to play!
