How NewKamaKenpo runs games

First and foremost, my goal as a GM is to provide a fun, memorable experience for all players. Your comfort and enthusiasm are my top priorities. In my games, the world is as important as the characters, and consistency is paramount. Players must create characters that fit the campaign setting, fostering a deeper connection to the world. The game takes itself seriously, with a believable and reactive world where NPCs are as real as the player characters. I prefer a RAW (rules as written) approach to the systems I run. I don't believe that the rules get in the way of fun, but rather provide a framework and structure for it. That being said, I understand that system rules cannot account for everything and some situations require nuance. Sessions include both loose RP and planned encounters. Encounters can be combat, social, exploration, or puzzles, and each session features a mix of these elements. Combat is challenging and requires strategic thinking, with balanced encounters ensuring a fair chance of success. Character death is possible and fair, though your success is my goal. Players are warned if their actions are likely to result in death. New players should research the system independently, though assistance is available for clarification. Consistent attendance and communication are crucial, with sessions using Discord for voice chat and Foundry VTT for gameplay and dice rolling.
