About Nick C
My first time playing DND was in 2016 as the GM, and ever since I have been addicted to telling stories with my friends. I have run high-intensity plane-hopping one shots, tactical death-defying combat encounters and heartbreaking years-long narrative campaigns. My style of play is often mechanically focused, but in service of telling a memorable story. You're just as likely to be put between a rock and a hard place in a dynamic encounter as you are to cry laughing at an improvised conversation or dumb joke. My most played game is DND 5e, but I love other systems as well and would love to spend more time running other games. In my real life I am a student and a musician, playing drums in various venues across my city.

I got started GMing...
Because I wanted to play DND but didn't know anyone who ran games! So my first time playing was as the GM.
My favorite books are
My favourite book series is probably A Series of Unfortunate Events for the childhood nostalgia, and my single favourite book is The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern.
My favorite system of all Time is
Burning Wheel! It's intent and task system makes stories tell themselves, and it can be rules light with just the basic system or extremely crunchy if you include more of the other components.
How Nick C runs games
My preferred style of play is one with tactical decisions that have narrative weight. In my ideal game, players can use system mastery to tell a meaningful story arc for their character. That being said, I enjoy lots of styles of play. I like more relaxed games where the goal is to have a good time and create funny moments, and I like more narrative games where tense moments can take centre stage and the game mechanics gently nudge the trajectory of the story. The style of play depends on the kind of game I am intending to run and the players present at the table.
Nick C's ideal table
The primary thing I look for in players is people who elevate others and can create a positive and funny experience for others. If you enjoy any of: - Tactical Combat, - Deep Roleplay, - Exploration and Mystery-solving, then I likely have a table for you. In between gameplay, my table is filled with laughter, jokes and anecdotes.
