About Minotaur of Malice
Howdy, I'm the Minotaur of Malice, or (reluctantly) my initials as my players have come to call me... I am your neighborhood DM-ing man ready to whip up some fun adventures with some gimmick or another. Most importantly, I want to mesh our creative ideas together in a group of excited players to make a memorable campaign. Communication, creativity, and snacks are crucial to creating the best memories together. My biggest claim to success is running Tyranny of Dragons and making it ENJOYABLE for the table! Flexibility and maintaining an understanding of wants and desires for a game (with slight seasonings of surprise). Even homebrews are based the table. Whether it is helping a new player to the hobby or adding intrigue for a veteran, I seek to bring joy and refreshing play for all involved. If you want to join this journey, let me know and we'll get this die rolling!

My favorite system of all Time is
Dread. I hate that I can't play it properly online! Since it requires Jenga blocks, the closest to emulating it online has been playing "Higher/Lower" with poker cards with strikes and boons as a homebrew solution. Send recommendations if you have solutions!

Three word my players would use to describe me would be Fair, Fun, and Mom. Fair—I will hear people out. I address issues (disagreements and pvp) quickly while hearing people out. Fun—I emphasize collaboration at the table. The world is built together! Mom—Because acronym. Save me from my players..
How Minotaur of Malice runs games
Adaptability and communication is key: I enjoy every aspect of the games I run, so I craft my games to the party's desires. Even if I am using a module, I'll mold the main story to meld with the most popular style of play. Combat—I roll in the open. I don't mind players using virtual or personal dice over a Discord call. But I feel clarity is most important when the Dungeon Master is rolling because of the power and control. I will only bring surprises in a climatic sense during combat (e.g. floor collapsing; beloved NPC is at risk of falling off the cliff; a reasonable NPC for a reasonable reason joins the fight with plenty of foreshadowing). Social—Talking is not enough. Purpose, Fears, Goals, and Beliefs are important for everyone, from the Emperor of the continent to the lowly goblin bandit. If you find an NPC who seems to be interesting, it is unlikely they exist in the void. A player should expect a meaningful interaction wherever they may stride, but I will allude if not tell if this is pertinent to the main plot as to not stray from the plot too much. It is the party's choice if they wish to proceed anyway though! Exploration—This is more than "I walk from the town to the forest; now there are cool vegetation". What is the purpose of these plants? How can they benefit me? Are these rare? Exploration in TTRPGs is discovering lore beneath the veil at the player's pace and interests. Lore is not to be dumped either, but found through meaningful play!

I deal with rules issues by considering the fun at the table. Is this something that needs to be addressed now? How will this affect the flow of the session? Regardless of the answer, it should always be readdressed after session to hear out others. It is a moment to learn, not a halt to all.
I prep by
I prep by reading what the player characters are doing, what the players want, and what is happening in the world. The fun is collaborating these events together. I communicate with players with ideas or questions, then put it into writing. BOOM! Magical fun.
Rules are...
Rules are a guideline. I do not think they should be ignored, but they should not be worshipped either. They are to be built upon! Learn the rules as a student to break them as a master. Learn the size of a box before thinking outside of it.
Minotaur of Malice's ideal table
My table can look very different from group to group. One thing that is most important: - - - COMMUNICATION - - - If you are being secretive and mischievous, then you are not going to have a good time at my table. At the same time, in character information should not be leveraged against players with out of character information. If you enjoy open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect, then you are likely to find a table I am running you can have fun at.

My perfect party mix is
My perfect party mix is when players are willing to communicate and collaborate stories together in a respectful tone. It is okay to have bitter rivalries and conflict in character, but we need to keep that separate from when we are dealing with things as people.

My table is not the place for one individual person. It is for a group of collaboration. Work together for a better story, and that goes for me as the Game Master, too.
