About Janjas

Just a regular Lord of the Rings fan and a mythology aficionado who loves to create high fantasy adventures. I learned about TTRPGs when I was in high school and I fell in love with it since. When the pandemic hit in 2020, my friends and I found in our sessions a safe space to endure the adversities of the world and within this period I became a Dungeon Master. Now, a few years later, I want to create the same safe space for others and more than anything, help everyone to have fun.

How Janjas runs games

The system that I am most comfortable as a GM is D&D 5e, but I have played a lot others. And I am really willing to try out the beta for the new Critical Role's system, Daggerheart. When it comes to my sessions, I like to create a complete experience, with a lot of roleplay opportunities, exploration and combat, but the most important thing to me is to understand what the players have more interest in and use it to make everything more fun. As of rules, I am a believer that Rule of Cool tend to be better than Rules as Written, but not all the time. I always will make my decisions based on the type of game I am running and the type of players that I am running it for. I've run modules before but my favorite thing is tailor the story to the characters. My main goal when adding a character into a campaign is to make them feel like a living part of the world. I am Brazilian, and despite having a certain level of fluency in English, a little bit of accent will always be present in my voice, but I do my best to voice every character in a new and fun way. And I think I am getting better at it.
