About Michael Allen Zoeller
Hello there. My name is Michael Allen Zoeller (or MAZ). I am a writer/podcast producer who makes audio dramas with my friends. But I'm here so...if you can't tell, I'm a huge Tabletop dork. I've been writing my own stories since I was like 12. But... imagine my surprise when in like 2018 I found out that Tabletop existed. ("I can make stories with my friends!" Said young me, lacking the friends he needed at the time.) And I quickly fell into the DM seat. That is, when I did reach out and make friends. I have since played a bunch of tabletop games and made a bunch of tabletop friends. I have explored realms with my comrades, leading them through fantasy, espionage, mystery, and occasionally... mime fields. (Yes... MIMES. With an M.) If you want some real epic adventures with mystery and fun, I am likely your guy.

I got started GMing...
I got started GMing during my first ever game. When I started out I had no one I knew who would GM, plus, I knew I was a very creative person. It just made the most sense at the time to start there
My favorite shows/movies are
I am a big fan of shows that have a good mix of humor, drama, and action. Hazbin Hotel and the Dragon Prince are the ones that my friends been talking bout a lot lately. I am also a HUGE fan of both One Piece, Pokemon, and Tangled the Series.
When I'm not running games I'm...
Writing and producing my own superhero audio drama podcast with my friends.
How Michael Allen Zoeller runs games
I have been Game Mastering for about five years with various systems. I mostly run games that are a mix of lighthearted fun with intrigue and mystery sprinkled in. (If you can't tell, big fan of Dimension 20 here.) You can expect some games set in the world of fandoms I like. Because it seems I haven't quite gotten over my fanfiction era, it now just takes a new form. You can expect shorter campaigns but with drama and stories that will inspire fun and creativity. I love mystery and silly stories that blend comedy and drama.

I prep by
I usually jot down all my thoughts after a session is over, ruminate on it over the week, and come back to it the day before the session to make stats and fully set up what the plan is.
Rules are...
I am mostly a rules-light GM. Rule of Cool is essential in my games.
When it comes to voices
I will definitely do voices. I find it fun to do silly voices. I can do a little bit from my experience in theater
Michael Allen Zoeller's ideal table
Topped. I prefer my table topped. To be serious, I want to inspire fun and hope amongst my players. I love seeing them begin to figure out what I have planned, and seeing them go in directions I could never guess. If you are a roleplay heavy player, you're very welcomed at my game. There is also fun combats, but you can expect them to be more than just "attack guy until dead". There will be complications, nuances, maybe an occasional dad joke thrown in. If you want wonder and want to feel part of a process where we can explore the story together, than you'll be very happy. I use player backstories best I can and I value vibe and atmosphere. Overall, I wanna create a safe space for everyone to express themselves

I am for a vibe that's...
Fun yet compelling. A good mix of silly shenanigans and intriguing drama
If you're into ___, you're going to love my table
Hate to be generic but Dimension 20. But its fitting. D20 has fun mysteries and lighthearted fun sprinkled in with drama and storytelling that can move you. I also don't like making campaigns too long. I like having fun with an idea and then moving on to something new.
My table is not the place for...
So... this is a good place to put my thoughts on two subjects. PVP: I am not saying never, but instances of PVP need to be pre-planned and extra safety precautions have to be put in place. Evil Characters: I have had this done well before, but then had a player ruin it. So I don't allow it anymore
