I’ve been GMing for 8 years now, mostly home games with my friends. Even though most of my experience is with 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons, recently I’ve become much more interested in cinematic and fiction-first games.

How Mal runs games
I most enjoy GMing games that are either fiction-first or cinematic with our focus on the characters. I love roleplaying and pulling out the dumb voices. I'll often describe action or set scenes using cinematic terms and camera movement. My most important goal as a game master is to make an enjoyable game for my players(and also ideally myself). I always do character creation together with the entire party and always go in with a loose framework(outside of rare occasions, like in Alien) so the we can all come up with the kind of story we want to play together. If I can strive for anything to happen in my games, it's for my players to feel confident to take control of the story, pursue what they want how they want.
