About Lee, Pungeon Master

Greetings and Salutations my fellow storyweavers! I am Lee, once a proud member of the Covenant Canon team as Drakle Studios, now a Professional Dungeon Master. I had an aberrant start to this hobby, growing up in the era of Dungeons & Dragons 4e being captivated by the art and monsters that slowly grew into a love of all tabletops even if I didn't necessarily play all systems. I prefer to run Dungeons & Dragons from 3.5e to 5e with a preference to the latter system I quickly fell into the role of DM after my first campaign and since 2021 I have been professionally DMing for my local advocacy centre, helping neurodivergeant adults find themselves friends and trying to confront their challenges through the lens of storytelling. My goal with every game I run is to help my players tell the stories they want to, confronting malignant villains I have woven from the campaign's themes, and watching all that crumble as we begin cackling at the absurd stories the dice decide to tell. Player agency and providing a safe space for my players to tell the story they want for their characters are of the utmost importance to me! I want my players to experience gut busting laughter, heartbreaking drama, unsuspected shock, terrifying suspense, and any other cathartic emotional release that they seek. My games are PC-centric, unique, and tailormade to bring the PCs into the larger narrative.

How Lee, Pungeon Master runs games

🎭 Mix of roleplay, comedy/drama, mystery/intrigue, & strategic combat (Happily tailors to player requests) 🛠️ Homebrewed subclasses, lineages, extra abilities, & magic items are welcome! 📖 RAW/RAI with fun moments of Rule of Cool 🪐Simulationist Worlds 🗣️Character Voices! My style of DMing is drenched in narrative, I play true to characters and do my best to ensure that my players can attain even greater results with their Roleplay and Combat skills. I adore bending the rules to allow for chances to tell unique stories, and creating immersive worlds that, while not entirely in-depth, do feel lived-in and active. The world may be mine, but it must answer to the actions of my players and their choices. For ill or for good. But first and foremost, it was the player's choice.

My favorite trope is...

The Magnificent Bastard. Villains are a wonderful vehicle in TTRPG, one that should allow players the utmost catharsis when obliterating them.

Rules are...

A support structure to enable cinematic moments. A support structure that is meant to be bent when needed.

When it comes to voices

They are drenched in texture, feeling akin to the creatures they are meant to simulate.

I love it when a player

Whips out a seemingly innocuous roleplay feature in the middle of a battle, using it to interact with my villain in a strange way.

I think min/maxing...

Has its place in tactical games, and can have some fun in theory-crafting. However the best min/maxing is when it is used to support your fellow player and enable their unique strategies. Teamwork makes the dream work!
