About Laz

Hello, adventurers! I have been playing various TTRPGs for around 15 years now. I started my Dungeon Master journey through running games in after school support clubs for teens and tweens. This means I have a lot of experience teaching new players and rolling with absolutely unhinged story lines. However, I've been embroiled in the D&D universe from a tender young age starting with various video games, like the original Baldur's Gate, and following Drizzt's journey in the Forgotten Realms novels. Imagine my surprise when I got invited to my first D&D game in my 20s and realized I already knew the lore! All my games are LGBTQ+ friendly. I always strive to create a table that is a safe and welcoming.

When I'm not running games I'm...

Finding a myriad of ways to get lost (literally) in nature. I like to hike, paddleboard, kayak, scuba dive, and snowshoe. If I'm not collecting bruises from mother nature, you can find me with my nose in a book or seasonally haunting a hockey game. Go Red Eagles!

How Laz runs games

I value roleplay and character driven stories. I tend to follow the rule of cool and emphasize storytelling over strict rules as written. I enjoy giving my players interesting and challenging combat that lets them flex character abilities that are more than just “stand in place and smack the HP bag”. Most of all, I enjoy seeing my players having fun with whatever harebrained schemes they’ve come up with and weaving that into the overall story. If I sound like the DM for you, let's go on an adventure together!

I once ran a session...

Where the BBEG was 3 kobolds in a trenchcoat named Mo, Rye, and Karey with the boss music being the bardcore version of "All I Want for Christmas".
