About Kyle

Howdy, Explorers! There's few things I enjoy more than running an exciting game for my players. I began playing in high school, had a short hiatus during college, then rejoined the ranks of ttrpg players in 2018. Starting in 2020 I began heavily GMing. I found it so rewarding and fulfilling to create an amazing experience for my players. I've done everything from one-shots to long campaigns, and everything in between. I think each length creates unique story and play styles that each have their own really incredible strengths. I love running essentially any genre and any system, as a great story and player experience isn't bound by either! Thanks for checking out my profile, and I hope to see you at the table!

I got started GMing...

to get the chance to make awesome stories with my friends! I love creating deep and rewarding experiences for my players, that we can then co-write the story of.

My favorite system of all Time is

Solaris! It's a relatively new system, but I am the creator of it! It's built to enable fun exciting gameplay, deep characters, and a non-overwhelming experience. The depth is all there, but it only takes about 15 minutes to get into the game!

When I'm not running games I'm...

building Solaris, watching movies, and making music!

How Kyle runs games

My GMing style celebrates both individuality and collective storytelling. By meticulously crafting custom stories and intertwining player character backstories, I ensure each campaign feels deeply personalized and resonant. While the foundation is set by the system, the "rule-of-cool" reigns supreme, fostering an environment where fun and creativity overshadow strict adherence to rules. I enjoy role-playing as the world's NPCs to create an immersive experience for all of my players. Whether you dive deep into role-playing as well, or prefer to not play too heavily into your character, my table offers a vibrant world where everyone's contributions shape our awesome adventures. Dive in and let's co-author a story that will go down in the ages!

I prep by

copious amounts of word building, planning, and potential arcs and characters. However, you simply may never meet of run into any of it/ them. I do this because I think it helps establish the world, but if my prep never gets used, that means the story took a different awesome direction!

Rules are...

guidelines to gamify the story. I usually tweak rules in systems based on how the party likes to play, and sometimes will ignore a rule if it makes for a more fun experience and session.

When it comes to voices

you'll get the full gamut. I may not be a voice actor, or even very good at it, but I find it fun to immerse myself in the characters I am portraying. I also find that by committing myself, and potentially looking foolish, allows more self-conscious players to open up and feel less worried.

Kyle's ideal table

If you enjoy great stories, theatrics, and diving into role-playing, you'll love my table! My goal is always to create the most exciting and fun game possible for my party, that includes everything from how I plan through the playlist I pick to set scenes. I like checking with players to make sure they are getting what they want out of the game and to create unique sessions that build up the individual players and the party as a whole.

I am for a vibe that's...

relaxed and fun. My approach is that this is all supposed to be fun. So, getting upset or frustrated feels counter intuitive. High emotions are certainly welcome and exciting, but not at the expense of other players fun.

If you're into ___, you're going to love my table

theatrics! I love pouring theatrics all throughout the stories and performances that I run. I always do my best to make playing exciting and rich for the players!

I love it when a player

gets in to character. I find it exciting when they really connect with their character and are enjoying inhabiting and playing as them.
