About Kyle Steinwand
I've been a GM for 18 years now starting with DnD 3.5, then DnD 4e, DnD 5e, Pathfinder 1e and now Pathfinder 2e. I've played multiple sessions with various games for the last 20+ years. I'm a fairly laid back GM open to many things as long as there is discussion had with the group to determine the style of game being ran!

I started running games because...
I started running games back when I was in the military because we didn't have a GM. So for me to start playing, I had to run the games with friends, and kinda got lumped as a forever GM. I've been able to be a player more recently, but I'm still more comfortable behind the screen.
How Kyle Steinwand runs games
I'm a fairly laid back GM that riffs off the players around. If it's a serious game, I work with my players to make it serious. If it's a fun game, I work with them to keep it fun. When I run modules, I tend to stick to the book with some variations so that it's not just the same carbon copy of the module.

I deal with rules issues by...
If I can look up a rule quickly to discuss it with a player, I'll happily do so. If I can't look it up quickly, then I'll make a quick judgement call to keep the session moving forward and discuss the rule with the player (or players) after the session.
Kyle Steinwand's ideal table
My ideal table is one where everyone can get along and have friendly conversations and banter, just like we're a group friends that have been together for a good while.

I think it's a red flag when players...
A red flag for me is when a single player takes away player agency for the group. I believe ttrpgs are a group activity and so every one should have the chance to do something. And if a player behaves in a manner to have all the attention and decision making all to themselves, it's a red flag to me.
