About me

I'm a professional voice actor, audio producer, two decade-long GM, and generally fun-loving guy. I like to give my games plenty of personal touches, with worlds you can feel invested in and stories that tie into your characters. My games are LGBTQ+ friendly and I will gladly work with players to give an experience all are comfortable and happy with.

GM Style

As a voice actor (you've maybe heard me in some training videos, commercials, or Payday 2 maaaybe) I love doing a wide variety of character voices. As a GM, I love to create interesting stories and worlds that your characters are really a part of! If we are doing a campaign together, you can bet on being invested in the story! Depending on the system, I like to make sure combat is, first and foremost, fun and interesting. Back and forth slap fights are only good on 90's daytime network TV dramas, so I always encourage creative combat. I also love to laugh. Yeah, I'll try to get some gasps, maybe even tears during the big dramatic moments, but jokes and good times are always welcome.

I participated in a Cortex Prime introductory game that Klaus set up to help people learn the system. It worked beautifully. Klaus is patient, his explanations are easy to follow, everything went smoothly. The example game he chose was fun, and he is a great GM. Strongly recommended!

Klaus introduced me to Cortex Prime, a very fun system that unfortunately takes a little explaining. But he did an excellent job of integrating the learning into the play. He brought us on a short but fun adventure that taught us the rules and kept us entertained.

Great one-shot in a less famous interesting system. Complexity of the one shot was chosen greatly, RP and combat scenes were done awesomly. I reccomend this GM.

Klaus is witty, punny, inclusive, and creates memorable characters using a huge range of voices and technical wizardry. He creates worlds and sessions that all his players eagerly look forward to, and is honestly one of my favorite Game Masters. He is patient with new players, and gives helpful tips and advice for someone who may be learning a new class or the game itself.

Klaus has been my DM for decades now. Am I biased? Maybe. But he is easily one of the best DM's I've ever had the joy of playing alongside, and there have been many. He has a talent for comedy, and a flair for the dramatic, and he has a good sense of how to manage a table that only comes with those aforementioned decades of DM experience. You'll remember your sessions with Klaus in stories for years to come.

I've played with Klaus through two multi-year campaigns (as well as a side campaign and a couple brief tests, one-shots, etc). As our second "main" campaign wraps up, he asked our group if we would be willing to write our thoughts here, and I would love to go on record as saying that he is an absolutely brilliant GM. His games - even the side campaign that was explicitly set up as a traditional dungeon crawl with no backstories - are typically story-focused and based on a central theme/premise which permeates the fabric of the entire world, from the setting, to the visuals, to the attitudes of the NPCs, to the tone of the quests, to the end conflict itself. Inevitably, the way he constructs the world leads to VERY satisfying story/exposition points as the various pieces of the puzzle start coming together. His style as a GM tends to be more linear than free-form. You will have all of the agency you want (and he very much encourages it at the table). But, with the exception of the aforementioned "this is a weekly dungeon crawl" campaign, I've found that most of his sessions tend to chain together in a way where the stakes feel too high to mess around; the consequences could be dire if you spend too long faffing about while the situation at the crystal mines unfolds in the background. Klaus jokes around a lot (with us, at least) about wanting to inflict existential horror on us. However, at the end of the day, it's very clear that he is passionate about making sure every player at the table is having a good time, and also making sure that the players who provided a 16 page backstory are made into a real part of the world and are given a chance to have a satisfying character arc that plays back into the main story. Every NPC I've met in his worlds is vivid, and motivated, and *alive*. He makes his own maps. He does the voices, he improvises pretty much seamlessly when we throw him off the rails, and he knows when to stick to the rules and when to bend them a little bit because it would let you do something really cool or unexpected. More than anything, Klaus is really good at combining all of these elements to crush your dreams and leave you on a powerful cliffhanger with just enough hope that maybe you can fight your way out of this terrible situation. A+, best dungeon master I've ever had the privilege of playing with.
